[Evolution of Popular Music] Studying Songs

I have a test in this class tomorrow, and I need to know these songs by listening to them. Last test I couldn't remember them too good, so does anyone have any tips on how to memorize songs other than listening over and over again? All I have to do is match up the title to the song, dates and performer are already taken care of.

I had to do with for my pop music class I did last year. I have a pretty good memory so it wasn't a problem for me. What I did do, though, was I would only listen to the first five seconds or so of each song. Since I knew that the professor would be starting each clip at the beginning, I realy only need to know the opening notes, not the whole song.

This will only really work if you know that your teacher will be starting each song from the beginning. Other than that, only way to memorize that I can think of is to listen over and over again. Though I do find, if there are lyrics involved, that reading or writing down the lyrics as you listen helps you commit it to memory faster.

Thanks for the advice, it really helped. This was the first test thtat I actually remembered all of the songs. For all my other tests I listened to the whole thing over and over, and they just didn't stick like they did when I only listened to the first couple seconds. I think I may actually get a good grade on this one. Thanks again.
