It depends what you're studying, actually. If you have to memorize something, like let's say the chemistry elements or history, then my suggestion is that you read what you have to memorize over and over again until it's stuck to your brain. Once in a while, try to recite it in your head just to make sure you still remember it.

But if you have to study things like subject-verb agreement, syllabication and all that crap, all you have to do is remember the rules and techniques in doing them, then you won't have much of a problem.

If you have to study about math, you don't really have to memorize much. You just have to know how to do certain solutions and stuff, and the rest depends on what numbers are involved. Same goes with geometry.

Those are pretty much my studying strategies. But remember that even though I have very high grades, I'm only a sixth grader. Therefore, I can't be fully trusted.

Listen to music. Just, not something you are like "zomg i lub that song" about, cus then you will get so into the music that you wont be able to focus.

Also, study around day time, cus at night you dont remember stuff as well.

Yeah, music helps me feel better about studying.
And try to do the work when you have energy. Otherwise you'll end up just sitting in front of it feeling depressed. I do anyway.
If you have no energy, then drink pepsi !

Thats what I do to help me study.

Some tips for studying would be:

1) study for 1 hour
2) Do something that has no relation to what you were studying (15 minutes)
3) Repeat 1 & 2 as many times as needed.

I would not recommend listening to music, because music can distract you so easily, and you might not learn what you need.

Wii Code: 2205-6299-0190-0324 PM me if you add me SSBB Code: 4897-6254-5296 PM me if you add me Phantom Hourglass Code: VOID- and I dun want it! Mario Kart DS Code: MKWii: 0302-0357-9760 Pm if you add Metroid Prime: Hunters Code: VOID, but I want it. Badly. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Code: Go, Charizard! Animal Crossing DS Code: Chirp, moo, quack
My advice is study for five minutes, take a break, study again, and continue. It'll be fresh in your memory if you keep doing that and it's fun.

Not studying is actually a good tactic. It's not something I'd suggest, but it's not something I do either. I always get the stuff in class, or know if from previous years and stuff, therefore I don't study. I've never studied for a math test in my life, and generally get good grades.

Reading it over and over helps, though.

Tips from a college student:
Find a time that you're actually comfortable with studying. A lot of times, soft orchestrated music is helpful. Sometimes you may find it easier to study in silence. I do enjoy the soft music, but I find I study best when it's absolutely silent. I find I study well late at night, but I tend to stay up late anyways (that's just me). You might want to go into your school's library or maybe at home with a gentle candle lit nearby. Find an ideal situation, then be sure to take notes, and after every section try to recall all the information you just gathered. Take breaks like it's been suggested too.

KasutoStve, I've found that orchestrated music in particular is distracting. I tend to unconciously analyze the complex chords and harmonics which isn't exactly conducive to productive study.

I like to study by osmosis. So, instead of doing sit-down study for Japanese I just keep grammar and vocab rules in mind while watching Japanese media, playing video games in Japanese, etc. Not sure how exactly you can do that for physics and such though.
