This time I need help with 1984.

I need 3 ways the government of Big Brother manipulates/brainwashes its inhabitants.

I have 2. Which are demonizing resistance and changing the past to fit the present

I am very confident I can get examples about the latter, but I'm not sure if the former is a very good choice.

So, I need 1 way in which the government manipulates the citizens and possibly a suggestion to change one of the other ways.

A constant surveillance destroys privacy and sends the inhabitants into an almost no confidence phase, not being able to access their own lives - therefore giving the Government control.

The two minutes hate is a big form or propaganda. The audio and visual is aimed at brainwashing members of the party. People get worked into a frenzy, and even Winston can't help but screaming along with them - even though he probably doesn't really want to.

To add to Doctor OKO's, this also makes the people, with such supressed emotion and feeling often talk in their sleep against Big Brother, which is followed by their arrest.
