Quick and Important Question

What is the format for citing a motion picture in an essay? Specifically, quotes from "A River Runs Through It" by Robert Redford. I don't need to know the works cited format--just how to format the quote within the essay.

Re: Quick and Important Question

The Usual Suspects. Dir. Bryan Singer. Perf. Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Chazz Palminteri, Stephen Baldwin, and Benecio del Toro. Polygram, 1995.

That's the example, so it goes:

Movie title. Director. Main Actors/Performers. Main company (ie. Paramount), year of movie.

Isn't what aeternus aura gave the works cited format?

Anyway, when putting the quote into the body of the essay, I would format it like this.

Paper material "Quote goes here"(A River Runs Through It, whatever year it was made )more paper material

I've done it that way in a high school course, and it was fine. I wouldn't sweat the details unless you're teacher was really strict about such things or if it's a very important paper.

Hope that helped.

Re: Quick and Important Question

Thanks guys.

You were a bit late, but it was my fault for giving last second notice. Eternal Fish provided what I was looking for, and yes, that was the format I ended up using. The teacher is not a stickler for conventions. He even printed out the exact works cited page for us. He is much more concerned with content.
