At what age is someone in Canada considered an Adult?
At what age is someone in Canada considered Adult?
I would like to know the answer of that, I can't seem to find it on the internet. This is about a school report about driving lessons and adulthood, it is allowed for someone in canada/usa to learn to drive at the age of 16. Here its different (europe), here the age is set to 18. So to understand this situation i need to know when a canadian is considered to be an adult by law.

Re: At what age is someone in Canada considered an Adult?
We are allowed to get our lisences at 16. We are considered young adults at the age of 18, and we can publically drink alcohol any where in the country when we're 19.
Hope that helps.

in the Province of quebec, though, you can drink alchohol at 18.
18 is considered the age of majority, but some freedoms, such as driving (16) and the age of consent (14) come younger. |

... hmmm in California, US, the new age of driver's license requirements is 18 from 1990 and later. anyone born before 1990 can get their license at 16 but 1990 and up it is 18 now.

Re: At what age is someone in Canada considered an Adult?
Where I live:
16 for permit 1/2 month with permit (under 18) for license (at least 16 1/2, and can you wonder why?) 17 makes you the majority 18 is the cigs, lottery, pr0n 21 is the alcohol. I also heard that if you have alcohol under 21 but over...17 i think, you can legally drink in private (aka your own house) unless you break another law. Is that true anywhere else?

Re: At what age is someone in Canada considered an Adult?
the province of Quebec is so cool! well it has it's advantages and disadvantages...
we can drive at 16 with the assistance of an adult we can drive alone at 16+8 month with the driving class, 17 without it we can (legaly... there are exceptions... )buy alcohol, cig and lottery at 18we are concidered as adults at 18 we can drink and smoke whatever how old we are, we just can't buy it until 18... maybe this is why there is such a high dependence rate here...

You can get your permit here(VA) when you are 15, then you have to wait for about 1 1/2 years to get your license. the legal drinking age is 21. i am sure it is the same in canada.

Re: At what age is someone in Canada considered an Adult?
Even if this hasn't been answeared before, I'm sure the one asking has long since finished the report. And it seems he/she got an answear.
There was no need to revive this, so.. *lock* |
