Unhappy For all you Jazz Mucisionists.. HELP!!!

[Jazz] Row your boat.... (jazzed up) {Trumpet}

I need to play a jazzy version of row your boat tommorrow and can't think of anything good enough for a passing grade.

So if any of you could think of how to play it jazzy in B flat I would be in your debt.

I also don't care how you tell me how to do it. Just make a rythem or sumthin'... I dunno... I don't care... just pleaz help me!

Throw in upper-neighbour tones.

It's an easy way to solo while closely following an existing melody.

I don't really have anything to contribute to this thread except it's "musicianist"

I'm sorry but my wisdom teeth are coming out and my head hurts enough as it is without seeing spelling like that.

to add a swing beat, you turn 2 eighth notes into triplets - with the two first triplets (slur them) being the first 8th note and the third being the second 8th note. you can do this when connecting quarter notes too. this can make pretty much anything sound jazzy. or, for that matter, just screw around with the note lengths until it sounds jazzy.

Re: For all you Jazz Mucisionists.. HELP!!!

I've tried everything you guys have thrown at me but I'm sure that just doing the jazzy triplets won't help at all.

Oh and thanks Coruscate.. didn't notice that

Does anyone know of a way to make everything about it jazzy?

fast beat, quick jumpy.. play it in 9/7... 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3... also add a bridge somewhere, improve it, just make sure you don't fret too much.. Just relax and feel it.

Re: For all you Jazz Mucisionists.. HELP!!!

Well, what I would do is just do a really fast chromatic up to the top, then slow towards the end, and try to vibrate the top note, and do triplets up and down, you know, like b flat c, a, b flat, g... ect. But that is just meh XD
