Supernatural Season One

No, this thread is not about Vampire Diaries, read the entire post por favor!
Alright, here's my situation. The other day, I did my homework while listening to Jack FM. On said station, I heard a commercial for the first episode of Vampire Diaries. I thought it sounded awesome and dropped everything to go watch it. It was indeed very good (though its debatable we won't get into that here) but afterwards I saw the beginning of the first episode of season 5 of Supernatural. I had never even seen this show before but it looked friggin sweet, much better than VD. I only watched it up to the theme song because I didn't have time for it, I had to go finish my work.
However, today I have found all of the episodes from all seaons free to watch except for season one on the internet.
Now my question is: Where can I go to watch Season 1?! I want to start at the beginning. I'm willing to buy the DVDs, but only as a last resort. Can anyone help me out?

The show isn't available for streaming on Hulu or The CW site, so I think the DVDs are your only option. Maybe it is available on iTunes, though?

Oops, sorry. It wasn't a link, but I see the potential problem.
Anyhow, that's too bad. I've never gotten video off of iTunes before, they aren't free are they? If they aren't, I'll probly just get the DVDs, since my computer screen is small and I want my money's worth.
