If You Could "Fix" Cartoon Network

We all know by now that CN (Cartoon Network) is in a really deep hole. We complained about Toonami sucking and finally getting canceled as well as all the current slop Cartoon Network is showing. Lets say that you had a chance (for whatever the reason might be) to control Cartoon Network and do what ever you wanted to it dispite what Turner Broadcasting says. Would you try to fix it? ...Or shut it down completly? Would you bring back some of the older cartoons? ...and what would future cartoons be like?

They need to have better cartoons. The one's they have now suck, and no live action. They older cartoons were a lot better like Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

I would bring back the older shows. =] And get rid of the crap like flapjack. I hate that art style and I hate the characters. That art style over all disgusts me to no end. I'm actually watching Ed, Edd, & Eddy right now as we speak and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't stick with that art style. Maybe even bring back Dexter's Laboratory. That was an amazing show that was funny and looked good to the eyes. =]

Show their older shows like Ed Edd n Eddy, Dexters Lab, and all them and toss the live action crap. Oh and maybe bring some good anime to the table.

Flapjack is the only good show on that station nowadays.

I would keep Flapjack. And then, only one word: 1990's.

The 90's was a golden age for Cartoon Network, and you all know it. Bring the entire old lineup back.

Pretty much what Red said. Scrap all the ♥♥♥♥ on today and bring back all of the shows from the 90's, when CN was actually good.

God I miss Ed Edd 'N Eddy.

edit: oh nvm, they do show a little bit of inu-yasha.

But I saw shows being imported from USA and they look terrible, so I'd have to agree with everyone else.

Well, they do have Bleach, that's a big one. But it's adult swim.

For Cartoon network, bring back Toonami. With it, Naruto Shippuden. I don't know what CN is thinking, why haven't they bought the episodes yet?
With Shippuden, Star Wars Clone Wars, Batman Brave and Bold, and maybe pokemon they already have a pretty decent lineup.

Re: If You Could "Fix" Cartoon Network

Guys, there's nothing wrong with Cartoon Network. They're doing the same thing they did back when you were a kid, just with different shows. The only reason why you don't like the new shows is because you didn't grow up with them, which is where the new shows differ from the old ones. You were kids when the old shows were around, so you liked them, but now that you're older, you don't like the new shows. The reason behind this is simple: Nostalgia. When you watch the older shows, you get nostalgic feelings that bring you back to a time where kid shows were fun for you, but you don't get that when you watch the new shows. I guarantee that if you were all 8-year olds, you'd be watching these shows that you're tearing apart right now.

So, to put it simply, I wouldn't change a thing. It's a kids channel, so it really doesn't affect me. I'd like to see the old shows again, but if they bring them back, like everyone is begging them too, they'll probably be different than they were before and everyone will just complain about the shows being "ruined" rather than the channel itself.

Re: If You Could "Fix" Cartoon Network

Adult Swim only shows ♥♥♥♥ty anime, and only one day a week.

Flapjack is simply the greatest cartoon ever to air on Cartoon Network. This is fact. I've watched Cartoon Network since the day it was born, folks, by the way. The old shows were way too much of the same formula over and over. The newer shows are far more creative and innovative. There's no reason at all to keep all the old shows running. The Simpsons isn't funny any more, and the old shows would go the same route. There's a reason cartoons get cancelled so quickly. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, for example, had an extremely short run due to producing new episodes far too quickly. It had exactly as many episodes as Dexter's Lab. Just throwing this out there. Bringing the old shows back for a few months long run for nostalgia's sake is fine, but if they had kept every single old show, you'd definitely get tired of the same characters every time you turned on the TV. It's hard to get excited about a new episode of a formulaic show.

Do you people really think the best route is to stagnate the cartoon industry?

Anyway, Cartoon Network would be fixed by having them stop showing their live action Discovery Channel ripoff shows Cash Cab Jr (Brainrush), Ghost Hunters Kidz (The Othersiders), Man Vs. Wild Teen Time (Survive This), and Smash Lab for tater tots (Destroy Build Destroy). Leave the live action kiddy bull♥♥♥♥ to Nickelodeon, and buy the rights to Invader Zim, and order up some new episodes of that while you're at it, eh?

Edit:

Actually, they keep sticking more and more live action shows into the mix, and it has really been making me mad. That they never did when I was a kid.

Re: If You Could "Fix" Cartoon Network

A. Get rid of everything that I deem as crap, which is basically their entire line-up besides Flapjack and the Clone Wars. Those two are pretty decent cartoons. I really wish they'd just leave the Clone War era alone though. Haven't they beat the dead horse enough already?

B. Show more reruns of their classic shows, and bring Samurai Jack back from the dead. Why the hell was that even canceled?

C. Try to follow the example of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Samurai Jack, and Full Metal Alchemist and try to make some new shows that have a good plot, character development, and a smart and original premise. Shows like that would help many kids be more mature and be able to appreciate a good story.

D. In addition to part C, bring Genndy Tartakovsky back. He was one of the best parts of Cartoon Network in the good old days.

And finally, get all of that reality ♥♥♥♥ off. IT'S CARTOON NETWORK FOR ♥♥♥♥ SAKE!

Re: If You Could "Fix" Cartoon Network

I think that the live action **** can only really mean one thing.

Cartoon Network has jumped on the bandwagon because they're losing a ton of money. I honestly can't blame them for what they're doing with the lineup, I mean, I don't hear kids talking about their favorite cartoons anymore, its all about iCarly, and all that ****. I think Cartoon Network is spiraling down.

Or maybe they're just corporate whores. I'm not sure which.

Anyway, I would bring back the anime block of Toonami. What are all these little boys watching now that the airwaves are dominated with girly, stupid sitcoms? Bring back shows like Outlaw Star, Ruroni Kenshin, Ronin Warriors, Gundam. The real action anime and I guarantee that you will entertain a demographic of 8-12 year old boys. At least they still have Clone Wars, but that's not saying much.

My favorite episode of Samurai Jack was when Aku was telling the story to the little Aku. And Jack was the bad guy in all his stories. XD Now THAT'S entertainment. =p They seriously need more shows like that.
