Shows you thought you would never watch
Just as the title asks, what shows have you watched and like but never thought you would like?
As for me it would be Seinfeld. I had watched it a couple of times before and thought is was stupid but I have a friend who watches it plus my dad owns every season and had me sit down and watch it with him. The episode that got me hooked is the one with the soup nazi, "No soup for you". |

Re: Shows you thought you would never watch
Pretty much the only two shows that I like that are still on TV: Spongebob Squarepants and American Idol.

I'll have to say Corner Gas, it's a Canadian sitcom about a small town in Saskatchewan following the lives of a gas station owner and the various towns people. It's a concept that I thought would suck bad, but the actors actually make it work.
Also Trailer Park Boys which I used to hate for no reason at all and is now one of my favorite shows. |

Heroes. My ex-boyfriend tried to get me into that series for so long when we were dating, and then once I walked in the room when my dad was watching a marathon. So then I got hooked.
Now my ex keeps doing the "I told you so" speech when I see him.

I thought that "Pushing Daisies" would be boring and have no depth. It was a fantastic, whimsical show. Shame about it's cancellation.

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. I'm one of those 'cartoons aren't good anymore' type guys. And when I saw that show....it was just....so good. Also, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is a show that's the exact same story. It's possibly the most original cartoon I've ever seen.
OHOHOH, and King of the Hill, sure they're all cartoons, but still. They were all cartoons I thought I'd hate, but ended up loving.

Re: Shows you thought you would never watch
I never had any desire to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but in my post just-watched-Firefly state, I was desperate for anything that would in any way be connected to its brilliance. Best way to do that, in my mind, was to watch other shows created by the same person.
Long story short, Buffy is one of my most favouritest shows ever. |

Making Fiends was splendiferous in my opinion. I even made a wikia on it! http://makingfiends.wikia.com/

Re: Shows you thought you would never watch
I used to think that pro wrestling was nothing more than big guys strutting around and pretending to hit eachother. Then the guy my mom was dating at the time got her to start watching, and I watched a few episodes with her.
Fastforward about three and a half years later. Now I watch every wrestling show I can, and I'm currently getting pro wrestling training from a local wrestler.

Re: Shows you thought you would never watch
When I saw commercials for Chowder, I thought it looked freakin' stupid and made a mental note never to watch it.
Eventually I did watch it. It's awesome.

American Idol. I really did not think I would ever start watching that show. Rockstar INXS and Supernova got me into it. American Idol was the fall back when Rockstar stopped airing.
King of Queens. I first, I just though that Kevin James was a loser. Then I saw Cuck and Larry, and thought to myself "He's actually not that bad." So, then I started watching a bit of the show. Now, it's one of my favourite shows right now. I watch it a few times a day.

Re: Shows you thought you would never watch
Married...With Children. I remember when I was little I turned it on and my Mom told me I couldn't watch it. I left it at that. Since then I forgot all about it and it wasn't until recently did I notice it was on TV. For a awile I kept my distance, mostly because I didn't think it would be a show I would like.(honestly had no idea what it was about) After watching a full episode I find myself watching it quite a bit.
Lost was actually a show I never really considered watching. I knew it was about a plane crash and the survivors on the Island. But I didn't know what time it was on, what day and I didn't think it would be something I would like. It wasn't until Scifi started airing 4 episodes on Mondays. So I sat down and watched the pilot, and the next episode and the next. Sure enough on Mondays I would be watching Lost, or atleast recording it. Of course soon I couldn't stand the wait and I actually went online for the episodes. It is officialy one of my favorites shows ever. |
