The Simpsons Discussion Thread

Does anyone think The Simpsons might go from tv-pg-13 to R ?
I don't think they will and I certainly hope they don't. I've always really enjoyed The Simpsons but I feel like it's been getting a bit tired in the last 2 or 3 seasons although there have been some terrific episodes in the middle of all that. I can always find something to amuse me about Homer though, he is always good for a laugh!
I love the Simpsons, while Family guy is worth watching, too.

Too funny.

I can't see the Simpsons becoming too adult oriented. I think it's for the better that it doesn't.

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

There is not an ice cube's chance in hell that The Simpsons will ever switch to a more adult-oriented show.

I haven't seen a new episode in like two years. Yeesh. I remember when I would watch every episode without fail. It has nothing to do with the quality of the show, I just don't have that time slot open anymore.

I don't think it'll change.
Hopefully, it'll end.

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

I think there could be at least a few new seasons of The Simpsons still to come, i believe Groening won't stop making them until people stop watching them. They have been to cack since Season 10 or so in my opinion.

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

There's no question that the show's truly fantastic seasons are behind us, but if I wasn't busy doing anything else, I'd watch the new episodes.
Also, why the Hell did they change the opening?!

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

Man I never get tired of hering people complain that "The simpsons aren't as good as they used to be." Zelda isn't as good as it use to be, do you think it should completely end? If you don't like it now, then you probably didn't like it much in the first place. Anyways, They're probably not gonna become adult orientated. They never have relied on "dark humor" for ratings. They have a little thing called creativity. Too many animated shows are losing this.

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

^The Simpsons isnt what it used to be, and nor is Zelda.

I firmly think that The Simpsons reached it's peak at approximately season eight, although anything from seasons two - eleven were sure as sugar to be a worthwhile waste of precious time. My favourite episode is the one that involved the finding of the 'Angel' fossil, it had alot of great commentary around people's belief systems, and the extent of skeptisism - ontop of being exceptionally hilarious.

Anyone else have favourites they would like to share?

Re: The Simpsons Discussion Thread

My favorite is the one where Bart and Homer become Catholics. It is one of the only moderately new episode that made me laugh out loud.

And yes, The Simpsons sucks now. Period. No more discussion beyond that.
