Scrubs Season 9 details

It turns out Scrubs will be a dramatically different show next season. Last month, at the Upfronts, ABC president Steve McPherson said Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence had two ideas for how the show could proceed without Zach Braff as the lead – one a more basic idea that would simply continue to follow the staff at Sacred Heart, including new characters, while another was a much more substantial change. It's the latter that we'll see next season, EW.com's Michael Ausiello reports, who reveals the show will be now set mainly at a med-school, where a couple of familiar professors, Dr. Cox and Dr. Turk, will be teaching.

John C. McGinley and Donald Faison will be the only original cast members retuning in a full time capacity, with the rest of the main cast made up of four new characters, mainly comprised of med students. Lawrence says ABC wants a big name for one of these roles, telling Ausiello, "One of them will be fairly famous."

Not having the Janitor around will feel strange but it looks like this reboot of the series wiill keep things fresh.

Interesting. I suppose it could work. Though I would really miss janitor since he was the funniest part of the show.

I'll watch it...but I'm not happy. I still think they should have ended it with Season 8.

COX! It's great that he's in it. However, Turk alone? Are you kidding? Really, how are they going to do that?

I'm not happy with it, but I'll definitely watch it. Please don't kill Scrubs, season 9. :/

Agreed, that finale was the perfect send off for the show.
