The Tonight Show

So how did everyone take to Conan O'Brien? I thought he did ok, but the first time out is just a feel episode. Gotta give him a little time. What does everyone else think?

Conan O'Biren is amazing at anything he does. Thus, he'll be amazing with the Tonight Show. There's a reason why Jay Leno wanted Conan to replace him. I don't care much for Conan's placement though.

Actually, NBC didn't want to lose him to CBS. Yes, Leno wanted him, but NBC made the deal to keep him there. He will do a good job.

Yeah he did 'aight.
I love Conan O'Brien. I even got to see his show LIVE in San Francisco when he was there(since I live an hour away).
I think he'll get back into the grove of things after a couple shows. I wasn't laughing my A off, but it was pretty funny.

Re: The Tonight Show

I don't really watch many late night shows such as those, but I am greatly aware and thankful that they did change it up. Jay Leno was a good host for such a show and they made a right move to change it up before it ended on a bad note.

So, at least they'll all remember it as Jay was always a good host, and never went bad. Even if Conan sucks. Haha. Though it'll be fine. It's entertainment that I care slightly less about, but yeah. Good for laughs with Conan's cheesy humor.

Re: The Tonight Show

One thing you got to love about Conan is that he makes fun of himself to really get the audience entertained. Its just first show jitters much like Late Night...and look what happened there. The question is now that Leno is gone and has his own show coming up in a few months, who is going to take over the Late Show after Letterman vacates?

Re: The Tonight Show

So far I like the first two shows he's done. I was worrried that NBC made him tone things down when I watched Monday's but it seemed like he really hasn't changed that much. I loved the whole thing with him running across America, it was hilarious.
If you ask me though, NBC giving Jay the 9 O'Clock(here in Wisconsin) spot did nothing but steal Conan's thunder. He had all the hype and they they give Jay the earlier show. Now he's still stuck behind Jay and if you ask me that's not fair. I think NBC's using it as a way to push Jay back onto the TS if Conan as host doesn't do that great. Plus after Conan, Jimmy Fallon sucks on Late Night. He just doesn't have the flair that Conan does and his humor seems too dry.

OH MY GAWD I'M SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!
I liked those episodes

I thought he did a good job. I do miss Joel (the old announcer) a bit...
I laughed my ass off at the first sketch. they were all pretty funny, actually!

I only watched the first episode, so we'll see how it goes. It's weird to hear the same theme music but re-worked. It's also weird to say "Max Weinberg and the Tonight Show Band"!

The studio is HUGE! and the set is SWANK!!!!

Yeah, everybody knows them as teh Max Weinberg 7, why switch it? Plus I don't think they really need Andy Richter to play the part of Kevin Eubanks and have the interaction between the monologue jokes. Conan did great on his own before.

No disrespect to Andy but he kinda floundered on his own so Conan did him a favor.

Re: The Tonight Show

Conan's my favorite "talk show" host, thus making me happy about the change. He has done well so far, and can only get better. And I'm glad they've kept the skits that made Late Night with CoCo so great- like the interactions with him, Max, and La Bamba, and In The Year (3)2000. Though, the changes to that skit did make me sad.

Yeah it was sad. The lights on football pads did nothing for me. But that first one was funny.

Re: The Tonight Show

Frankly, the funniest thing on the show so far was the Max-John of John and Kate Plus Eight comparison.

****in.
Hilarious.

Re: The Tonight Show

You know where Conan went to the Foley stage in Universal on Friday's show?

I was in there (not during the show, obviously)

That sound stage was actually the very first foley stage made. Yay for super special tours.
