Fringe

I'm surprised there isn't already a thread about this amazing new series!

JJ Abrams has had a hand in creating a few popular shows, namely Lost and Alias (NOT Heroes. Never trust me again.). However, I'd say that Fringe is his best yet. It began with one of the most epic pilot episodes I've ever seen, and now airs on Tuesdays after American Idol, definitely filling the expectations that I had for a show in this time slot.

For those of you who haven't seen it, I encourage you to check out some of the earlier episodes on Fox.com/Fringe. I can only describe it as a cross between The X-Files, House (for the "weekly mystery" feel), and The Twilight Zone.

For those of you who have seen it... discuss.

I don't think Abrams had or has anything to do with Heroes. Felicity, Alias and Lost, those are his big babies.

For some reason I've never been able to get into Abrams' TV work. Though to be fair I never really gave this one a try. But Alias and Lost both really didn't do anything for me, so that's my justification.

Though Zack Whedon writes for this show, and genius flows in his blood, so maybe someday I will give it a shot.

Ah, you're right. For some reason, I could've sworn he was one of the producers.

Re: Fringe

Fringe is really an awesome show. I love Walter. Hell, who doesn't?

It really is like The X-Files. Except Fringe focuses on more on the 'science' rather then supernatural/alien. I like how the whole idea of a terrorist group(I can't remember what they are called) who are using the world sort of as a testing ground.

I also like how they have this overall story, you really dont need to watch all of the episodes to enjoy it. Which is something the X-Files was great at.

Great series

Re: Fringe

It's an okay show. I've been keeping up with it on Hulu.

It's kind of predictable as far as dialog and character reactions to the point of where I know the exact line the actor is about to say.

It is, however, interesting. One of the most interesting and mysterious plot elements is that bald Watcher guy you see walking in the background randomly in episodes.
