high school musical.

high school musical. a disney movie involving high school kids doing everyday things. in song, that is.

in my opinion, high school is not a very thought-out musical. does anyone agree?

yeah, high school musical sucks

really, no one is like that in high school. In high school, people do stuff, like drugs, pranks on other kids, curse each other out, and other such things, they don't break into songs about "working together" and stuff. really. Not to mention all of the singers voices sound SOOO synthesized and fake, I can't stand it! all of the music is generic pop melodies with no supstance, and the storyline is almost non-existant.

I dunno how people find this show entertaining, I sure don't. Unless you have the maturity level of a 3rd grader....

I think that everyone has come to the conclusion that the show sucks, and the only reason its popular is because the up and coming generation is obsessed with image.

Move Along, find some other entertainment boogyman.

I honestly haven't seen it, so I have no opinion.

But I will say that Disney must be doing somthing right, look at all the High School Musical bookbags, lunchboxes, and balloons.

Not to mention I'm in Highschool and there are some that like it that are 16+...

The first I saw, and was okay (albeit lame, and annoying to watch). But the second and third are ****ing overkill.

REally. It wasn't even good, so why are you making, not only a sequel, but a sequel to the sequel? Seriously, they announced three before two even came out.

Because Disney is greedy. They knew if they made a sequel it will make money. They are just milking that series for all its worth.

I dislike musicals in general. I mean they make a crazed axe murderer seem more realistic. I mean how often does a entire group of people suddenly break out in song and sing perfectly together?

I've never seen high school musical, so I don't know.

but mildly IT F***ING SUCKED

High School Musical was a poorly-acted, well-choreographed, brilliantly-marketed film. I did not personally enjoy it, but I appreciate the effort that went into it. Many of the people I know who knock it are the sorts that think, "jeez, anyone can sing and dance. it sucks!!!1" That perception is completely false- if you've ever preformed in any stage performance that requires dance, you know what I'm talking about. Some of the cast were professional dancers, some were not.

Second, while I'm not a fan of Ashley Tisdale's voice (no, not at all, and I give her no credit because she was a Disney star previous so her getting the role... well, really aint all that impressive) most of the vocals were great. I'm not going to buy Vanessa Hudgens' CD and I'm not going to buy Zac Efron's, if he ever makes one. However, their vocals were amazing, and they really do have talent. (This is coming from someone who has been dragged by younger siblings to performances of the play unprofessional by unprofessional and semi-professional groups. I've heard a lot of alternate Troys and Gabriellas and although some were talented, I've yet to hear one that can match Hudgens or Efron.)

Obviously, the plot isn't completely original. It's largely ripped off from Grease, which is ripped off from West Side Story, which is ripped off from Romeo and Juliet. And while it is a little recycled, well- tough. The musical is aimed at kids who are probably not yet Shakespeare fans or Broadway aficionado.

It's really easy to say "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SUXX!!!!1!" I used to complain about it a lot myself, how it's stupid and shallow and no one should watch it. But ultimately, I stopped being dumb and realized- of course it's stupid and shallow. It's aimed at children. But in addition to it's shallowness and it's stupidity, it also has reasonably impressive vocals and a very uplifting message.

So overall I'd say "maybe." Maybe I like High School Musical. I'm not really sure of the extent to which I personally find it appealing. I didn't find it ridiculously enjoyable, but at the same time I respect it as a piece of quality programming aimed at little girls ages five to fourteen. Plus, it's better than some of the other crap on TV these days.

I could write, with perfect grammar and a plethora of words mind you, a 10,000 paragraph essay based on how terrible it is. Although Raunm made a great point!

EDIT: I saw 3 seconds of it mind you. And I can write that much...I mean it...although it was actually a minute. Still, the point remains. Their voices were so edited, it was practically techno. One of the worst minutes of my life.

First off, what? Where's that proof? Secondly, they're teens, get used to it. Every 1/3 teenage girl has an STD. I'm done, I'll leave the rest to the vultures who love the flick, the ones who will get back at you with terrible grammar and plenty of fart jokes.

I thought the first movie was okay. I hated the second.. But aparently there's a third coming to theatres...

I mean, to get so upset over it is just as pathetic as the movies themselves. If you don't like them.. drop it and carry on. Its really no big deal.
