My Name is Earl
Hullo!
![]() If you only have half a brain, you obviously don't realise that I'm rather fond of this show. It got a fair bit of advertising before it launched in the U.K. and I've been watching it ever since. It's taken a while because I'm not sure if anyone else likes it as much as I do but here's a thread for any discussion that may, may arise. I recently worked my way through season two and have managed, under less than agreeable methods to watch a good portion of season three. It's certainly a strange show, because the plot and comedy has a mild ebb and flow of quality which can be distracting from the overall aim of the plot (Earl making up for his past misdeeds) but for the most part it still makes me laugh. I was a bit depressed at the conclusion of season two:
Season 3, for what I've seen of it is a bit of a departure but having the new setting and character is great. Craig T. Nelson as the warden is hilarious, and it only occurred to me the other day that he and Jason Lee were in The Incredibles together. Anyway. I hope there's other folks around here that enjoy the show enough to contribute. Have at it! ~ Adhamh. |

Re: My Name is Earl
While I'm a huge fan of both Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee, I don't watch this show that often. I'll catch the odd rerun, but I'm pretty sure that it's on the same time as another show I watch, so I never watch it every week. Probably too bad, since I do enjoy it quite a bit. For some reason I always get a kick out of the very simple "Hey Earl!" "Hey Crabman!" exchange.

Quote:
The off-the-wall quality that the show has makes it worth watching. Agreed with the Earl and Crabman exchange. Earl and Darnell probably have the best relationship in the show, their top moment possibly being when Joy told Darnell Earl slept with his Mother. ![]() ~ Adhamh. |

Re: My Name is Earl
I've watched a lot of episodes online, some from all seasons.
It did get a tad old, so I stopped watching, but watching a few episodes every now and then can be funny. |

Re: My Name is Earl
I suppose I can see why people get tired of it, but I guess if you don't really accept or like many of the characters then the show will drag.
I think it's mostly the entire premise of the show that I enjoy, even if they stray from the beaten path of the list every once and a while. I have been watching from season one - episode to episode so I've grown to love it. Funnily enough I was watching an episode of American Chopper the other night and Jason Lee was on it. Turns out the Teutuls are building an "Earl" themed bike to be used in the show. Season three isn't out until November and I'm not even sure if it's showing on British television. ~ Adhamh. |

Re: My Name is Earl
I like the show, and the concept, but I've never watched it regularly. Too preoccupied with Lost and whatnot.

Re: My Name is Earl
Don't watch the show regularly, but it catches my interest. The guy who plays Earl-Jason Lee is one of the most stylish professional skateboarders around and personally one of my favorites.Check this out for proof.
