That's very true, but today's shows and movies are garbage compared to the older stuff. I think most people would agree to that. I would just like to see Disney go back to their roots a bit. Wouldn't you?

Re: WTF: Disney

I can't really comment when it comes to stuff that's on the Disney channel, because I've never watched it or its programs enough to really have an opinion (except that Recess is awesome).

In terms of movies, I'd say it's a shame that they churn out so many animated sequels to their classics, but beyond that I'm content with the Pixar animated films they put out, and their history of live-action films is a mixed bag of good and bad, like with most studios.

That's not even touching on their other children corporations, I mean, ABC may have had some issues when it was first aquired by Disney, but it's come back in a big bad way recently. I think they got rid of the Buena Vista label, but Touchstone is still putting out movies for Disney as well, some of which are good, some of which are bad. Mixed bag, as with everything.

Ever notice how the Disney stars are pregnant and messed up before adulthood. *COUGHJAMIELYNNSPEARSCOUGH*

I totally agree with the long and completely meaningful rant about how disney sucks completely.

Common mistake, one I've made myself, but Jamie Lynn Spears isn't a Disney kid. Her show is on Nickoldeon, which is owned by Viacom, not Disney.

I don't even think they air Recess on Disney Channel anymore.

Was Avril Lavigne? She turned out like a whore.

Raunm: They bare;y do, but not on the normal Disney channel. It's on Toon Disney, which is a lot better than regular Disney.

Re: WTF: Disney

Considering how long ago I used to watch it, I'm not surpised. I'm pretty sure I saw it for the first time in the late 90s, which means if it was still on, it'd be at least eight or nine years old, which would be absurdly long for a Disney cartoon show.

Unless they don't even show reruns. I know I've seen it on the Family Channel when I'm school (where I have cable television), which is pretty much the equivalent of the Disney channel in Canada.

Haha, no? Despite what rumours I've heard from people that actually knew her, I don't think Lavigne's ever gotten bad press for being a "whore." And no, she never worked for Disney, her label is owned by Sony.

Re: WTF: Disney

Hm...Well as far I know. a lot of Disney stars move on from it, and turn out very crappy.

And Recess is only showing reruns, sadly.

I LOVE Rugrats! Why would they do such a thing!?

I watched one episode, and I was so shocked by how bad it was, I couldn't move.

Re: WTF: Disney

I would like to point out that the only movies that Disney have made in the past 7 years that have been considered "critically acclaimed" aren't even made by them, but instead by one of their 3rd party studios, the great Pixar. Pixar is the only thing keeping Disney from going down the toilet. Disney has a great share of failed movies. Pixar, on the other hand, has not had a movie with an average critic rating below 8 out of 10 since they were established.

Re: WTF: Disney

Pixar was once owned by the something (current) of Apple. He went on to Apple, and Disney bought Pixar for more money. This goes to show that Dreamworks, and Pixar are the legs for Disney, they're only there to keep Disney standing and going.

Obviously, Disney's own workers are sucking at their job. If Walt Disney were alive today, we would probably see more movies than TV shows, and better movies at that.

They air on one of the channels. I think Toon Disney.

I watched some of those new shows and I just can't stand the laugh tracks. They are the most annoying thing ever created.

I read like two sentences. That I agree with.

Children's movies and tv programs used to be so good. I dunno what happened...

Two things. One, Pixar wasn't officially bought by Disney until 2006. Pixar is tricky, though, because their deals and contracts with Disney have changed so many times, each pulling at trying to get creative licensing and profits. But it is true up until it was sold in 2006 that Steve Jobs was the owner.

Secondly, Dreamworks is a subsidiary of Paramount, which is owned by Viacom. So it's not a leg that Disney stands on.

If you're talking animated features, I doubt it. Disney has put out less theatrical animated movies than you probably think. Not counting Pixar films, DisneyToon films or mixed live-action/animated films the number is at 46, with Snow White being the first in 1938 and Meet the Robinsons being the latest in 2007.
