Re: DR. WHO

Personally I enjoyed the "The Sontaran Stratagem", "The Poison Sky", "The Doctor's Daughter" and "The Unicorn and the Wasp" much more then this double, but it is still far better then the crap they were spewing out at the begining of the series. Some parts of the episodes were really great, and if the whole of Doctor Who consisted of such parts it would certainly be a great program. But then there were some bits that were horribly cringeworthy, such as the disfigured face of whatshername, and the "Who turned out the lights".

Though The Empty Child and the Blink episodes were good, I really, really disliked The Girl in the Fireplace. Now, the writing wasn't bad, admittedly, it was mainly the execution and the effects (the swival fireplace? Seriously?), but still...

I would actually say myself that part 1 was the worst of the two. Part two had some genuinely frightning moments at the beginning, especially that person in the veil.

I quite liked it; except when the... er... Vashta Nerada or whatever they're called started to talk, but the next time they could talk they were suddenly naturals at it... if you know what I mean. Things like that were strange. Still, the next one from the preview looks to be setting up quite a bad one. Looks quite comical.

Re: DR. WHO

Can I just say that Tallulah Riley (Miss Evangelista) is fit? Right, got that out of the way.

I liked the second part, but I'm with GDwarf in that the first part was good for an entirely different reason, and was better as a result. The second part was still good however.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
"Everyone lives" was a line from The Empty Child as well, which was also written by Stephen Moffat, if anyone cared to notice.

Re: DR. WHO

I just found this thread lol.

I'm a Doctor Who MANIAC! I watch it every week rain or shine 9which wouldn't matter anyway cuz I'm inside) but my point stands, Doctor Who is awesome!

Series 4 has been so incredibly awesome I can watch a single episode about 5 times without getting bored of it. Just about every episode had been pure genius and I enjoy following the plot then figuring out what's gonna happen like half an hour before it happens.

Best line of the series so far has gotta be when The Doctor was wearing the gas mask in the part 2 of the sontaran episodes and quote "are you my mummy?" LOL!

I don't know if anyone's seen this before but I found this music vid about the Doctor and the Master, it's friggin' epic.

Re: DR. WHO

Wasn't really a fan of the recent two parter.

Yeah, it's good by this season's standards, but I still felt... awkward watching it. The "Stay out of the shadows" thing was pretty silly when I think about it. When you're indoors you're pretty much always going to be in the shadow of something or other.
And I've never been a huge fan of computers/enemies constantly repeating what they're saying, but it's just getting annoying now.

Still, I did like some bits of the episode. It'll be interesting to see where they go with that woman (can't remember her name) who obviously will have some sort of serious relationship with the Doctor in the future. I liked the bit at the end with the stuttering bloke too.

Re: DR. WHO

I hear that Moffat is taking over writing next season.

Which is a little bit of alright, considering he seems to be the only writer who's lost in 'Let's croon over the doctor' melodrama.

Re: DR. WHO

Moffat's episodes tend to be very good, so him taking over the year after next will be quite interesting, at least.

Re: DR. WHO

Moffat is prolly the best writer working for Doctor Who. I normally like the one's he writes, they're normally the most epic ones.

Re: DR. WHO

This episode was amazing. Absolutely amazing. My favourite this series. The way it was done... genius.

Re: DR. WHO

This episode blows every other episode out of the water, easily best of the series, probably my favourite since the relaunch.

Re: DR. WHO

Agreed. It was ****ing epic. Doctor Who at it's best. Seriously. Who wrote that episode? It recalled the glory days of dark Doctor Who.

EDIT: Wait wut? Russel wrote that one? Huh? That felt like a Moffat. Seriously, one of Russel's was that good? woah...

Re: DR. WHO

That was the first episode this season that didn't make me cringe.

Does anyone else think it was more than a coincidence that the best episode of the series was the first one not to heavily feature Donna? The Doctor should go solo more often.

Re: DR. WHO

Guys, are you serious- that episode was horrible! The entire script was completely over the top, melodramatic at best, and ever single character was painfully annoying to listen too. Yes, you could say that it offered an interesting insight to the way people behave under pressure and fear, and the tension in the episode was good, but that is pretty much negated when you see that it was basically a complete rip-off of the movie The Mist.

Anyways, I also can't wait for the Moffat series. I wasn't a great fan of either The Girl in the Fireplace or Forest of the Dead, but on the other hand the other episodes he has written were by far the greatest of the entire show since the restart.

Re: DR. WHO

I've enjoyed every episode of this season but I must say that Midnight has to be one of the most tense and incredible episodes of any TV show.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
What made it brilliant for me was the human characters and how scary they were. This was one of the few times I couldn't see a way out for The Doctor. He's battled Daleks and Cybermen and Ice Warriors and Adric (well she should've), but it was a bunch of scared humans that ended up being the threat from which there seemed to be no hope of escaping.
