Nooooooooooo, Power Rangers is American, not Japanese. They do use the footage of The Japanese Super Sentai Series, but the Power Rangers franchise is American, not Japanese. However they do film new fight scenes sometimes. I remember seeing New scenes in Power Rangers SPD a fair bit. They made a really good motorcycle fight scenes. And the storylines are usually pretty different, but follow the same themes and the episodes. But yes, each Power Rangers Series is based on the years Super Sentai Series using it's footage. I can't wait till they ruin Gekiranger.

Oh yeah Kimba the white lion was in the same animation type as the zelda series was, and it was japanese.
I'd consider it a japanese version of "Caliou" with further lukemia treatment of a blue arrow", so I'm guessing it's an anime.
I wish I was back in the 90s, when N64, Awesome Cartoons, Annoying commercials, and Burnt Pizza served at McDonald's still existed.

That's kind of pretty much the same as what I said, just worded differently. It is still a Japanese concept/idea. I said they refilmed scenes but use the same fight scenes. I never mentioned anything about the storylines because although I used to watch Power Rangers as a kid, I'm a bit old for it and sentai now. Only little kids and otaku watch sentai series here.

Re: American or Japanese Cartoons?

Japanese cartoons are usually action/adventure, American is usually comedy. They shouldn't be competing, IMO.

Re: American or Japanese Cartoons?

I hate to say it, and I mean I HATE to say it, but I rather anime.

1. Action/Adventure, and the comedy it does have isn't stupid!
2. Continous story, not episodic, the villian of the day played out when Power Rangers started to suck. Thats why Inuyasha sucks!
3. Mainstream music. I'm sorry, but show only original music is terrible. Unless its like Pokemon, where videogame music was carried over to the show.
4. Visually pleasing. Must I say more?

Oh and Avatar is an American Cartoon with Chinese influence.
