LOST

This is the discussion thread for LOST, one of ABC's best shows. Since Season 3 started in America I thought we needed a thread. I know we have people on ZU who watch this show because of the old and dead LOST thread. But for those of you who don't know what it is...Wikipedia Article

So far, I've seen the three episodes shown so far and I really didn't like them. They just didn't seem to tell anything. Episode 3 was pretty good though. Tonight there will be another episode and I plan on gluing my eyes to the television.

So far, the first two episodes of Season 3 have been crap IMO, just because they were all about the Others, but they really didn't reveal anything important. But wow, the Others have acsess to the outside world? That's something I never expected. The third episode was great, but I missed half. This season will probably be a good one, based on the fact that Locke has his personality from Season 1 (The personality that believed in destiny and all that).

I just saw the latest episode of Lost a few hours ago. Anything to report?

1. Apparently Sawyer, Kate, and Jack are on a completely different Island. Sawyer saw his island from a cliff...which makes me think "how didn't anybody on the island notice the neighboring one?" So that lead me to believe, they are not on another island since in the begining of the first episode showed the plane crash on the same island the "Others" were on.

2. Kate loves Sawyer

3. This was a Sawyer heavy episode talking about
-how he met his con-artist partner
-he apparently has a newborn daughter (it was a "mistake" from a previous con he did).
-he was once in prison.
-He's 35 years old

4. Kate is capable of escaping via the bars on the top of the cage, but decided not to without Sawyer.

5. Desmond made a lightning rod made out of a 5-Iron, a pole and a few cords. If the survivors start producing electricity, this will bring a whole new sci-fi approach to the show (almost like the blood transfusion in the first season). What is Desmond going to do with Electricity?

1. I thought the same thing. There are multiple possibilities, though:
- The others' village is actually on the island, while the cages and whatnot are on the mini-island, and they use boats or tunnels to travel between the two.
- The mini-island is cloaked from the main island or it's on the other side somewhere.
- Sawyer was really on the main island looking at another island or another section of the main island (perhaps he was looking across a fairly large bay).

2. She claimed she only said it to make the guy stop hitting him, but you never know. She did stay with him instead of escaping.

And on the subject of Desmond...Lost is starting to go all Heroes on us. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as Jack doesn't start flying or something. XD

that Desmond could see the future. First, he predicted that Locke was going to find Jack, Saywer and Kate, then he predicted lots of stuff I forget. But I think he built that lightning rod because the lightning was going to hit Claire's "home". He did that to save Claire, Aaron, and Charlie IMO.
On another topic...
The two islands thing is something I never expected. But Ben said that it was twice the size of Alcatraz..., how come normal people don't go to and from it daily? Well, maybe they do, you never know with this show.

Really? I don't have any problems watching Video's on that site. I thought only Show Time (Penn & Teller: Bul*****) was the only station that blocked other countries.

I quickly got bored of that show after season 2. Haven't been able to watch it since.

Or maybe it's just my mom's influence. She was interested in the polar bear stuff, but after that, it got really boring. And so, we don't bother with it.

It seems like this season went by really quickly, and in a mere 15 min the season finale comes on! =O

Yeah, I know, but by then I had missed so much of the show that I just didn't want to catch up. Oh well.

I only wish the show wasn't so flish-flashy, and it followed a better storyline.

..it's already the finale? Dang, time flies.

Yup. My dad said, though, when I asked why there was a season in February too. He said usually around this time they showed a whole ton of re-runs but people complained and so now they have two shorter seasons.

I don't like the way the camera moves so quickly because it blurs everything so much you can't see a single thing!

You know, about the Hydra being underwater: maybe there are tunnels connecting the two islands? Who knows how big the Hydra is?

What confuses me though though is the whole six weeks, three month hiatus, then sixteen straight weeks of Lost. They called "I Do" a finale of sorts. I don't get it.
