Re: House M.D.

It's my favorite show!

There's something I don't understand about the first episode of season three, though...

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
How could that medicine that house came up with to save the guy in the wheelchair cured him so fast? Could it really be that easy? Or were they just trying to show you the families reaction? I think it would have been better if he came back good and well in a later episode...much more impact.

Re: House M.D.

I absolutely adore this show.

As for "Meaning", the season 3 premier, I did find it interesting. I love that the show is going in a new direction. People will always complain about it until they find out exactly what that direction is, but I'd much rather watch the show change than watch it stay the same. So I'm very excited for season 3. Can't wait for Tuesday.

Re: House M.D.

It's a good show mostly for the characters. The plot of each episode is rather similar (though I give credit to the writers for trying out at least some things to keep it fresh), but what keeps most viewers coming back are the characters, espeically House. Well, actually, all for House, and the way he interacts with the different characters.

I watch it mainly for all the things that go on in between the medical parts

In other words, the drama. I find House very interesting, and the fact that I have been told that if a haircut, a cane, and a bum leg, I could pose as him. S'pretty cool.

Back to the season premiere, I believe the reason the cripple was healed immediately, was to reinforce the theme of rebirth; House could walk, so could this guy, as a result of House's genius. But. The fact that Cuddy didn't want House to know he was right (or as they said, lucky,) also instilled doubt in the watcher's mind as to whether or not House really is new-and-improved. Brilliant writing.

Re: House M.D.

Can't stand house, mainly because every one is saying House as a character is so great. Meanwhile medical comedy Scrubs has already done a similar character. They rightfully made a joke about it in their latest season. The same thing with grey's antomy, but hey they are providing the scrub's writers with material as the characters have often mentioned that they watch it on television. So I kind of sum it up like this House is for people who don't know how to laugh. Scrubs is the superior medical show because it can be happy, sad, hilarous ect.

I'm a direhard Scrubs fan. I've loved it from the second it started. It is my favourite television show. But it is a completely different show from House. House, as a character, is similar to Dr. Cox only in the fact that they are both bitter and sarcastic. But their mannerisms and motivations for those traits are vastly different, and as such are portrayed differently.

Scrubs is also a comedy (while I am aware that it bridges the gap into a drama on a fairly regular basis, it is, at it's core, always a comedy) whereas House is very clearly a drama. House may say some funny things, but it is in no way a comedy. As such, it doesn't need to be a show for "people who don't know how to laugh" because that isn't it's main goal.

Don't get me wrong, Scrubs is my favourite of the two, but House is a very good character-based show. To dismiss it because you consider Scrubs to be superior and they share the same setting is, to me, a little foolish.

Re: House M.D.

Fireball, people who don't know how to laugh? There isn't an episode where I haven't laughed. The satirical humor is great. House is a great character and the way he interacts with everyone is where most of the humor comes from.
Now to the show, I missed the premier but have seen the other two in the series so far and loved them. The aliens was a bit odd, but nice.

You, sir, have obviously not seen House.

The show is hilarious, consistently and constantly. There isn't a single unfunny episode. I think of it more as a dramedy than anything. Equally, however, it's serious. Episodes like this Tuesday's are heartbreaking- I nearly cried, and that's personally rare.

To dislike a character on the grounds that everyone loves him is absurd, anyway. There's an obvious reason House is loved. Watch the show, and it's easy to understand why.

I agree with you 100 percent. I love House. The mixture of drama and humor is exquisite. It is like my favorite "Prime Time" show. Yesterday's episode was good. Very, very good. <3 It still amazes me how House can get all these younger women to like him. Still, I love House, the character and the show. They are very well done and exciting. The sarcasm makes me double over laughing, and the drama leaves me in utter awe. Two thumbs up for House. b^^d

Tuesday's episode...amazing. That was roughly intense, man...

What's with Dr. Cameron's hair? It doesn't look bad but...some how it seems...undone. Like. Tossed together. XP

It's the bangs, we've noticed it in my house as well. I personally don't mind it, but my housemates don't think that much of it.

Re: House M.D.

I'm defiantly a House fan. It's both the medical events and the events that go on around them. I tend to be extra *****y to people for about an hour after I've watched an episode.

I'm a fan of both House M.D. and Scrubs and the comparison of House to Dr. Cox from Scrubs is based on, just the narcissism and sarcastic traits.

Dr. Cox is more of a person that continuously proofs to the rest of the staff that that he is the big cheese, he is amazing and no one else. As long as everyone appeals to his ego, it's fine. And that's what he wants, he wants to have people acknowledge his greatness.

House defiantly doesn't care about you. Nor about your opinion. He gets his fix from solving the puzzles that no one else can. He is a brilliant doctor and that's all he wants. In one episode a patient told him that House and himself were quite alike. They didn't need a family to go home to, they couldn't use one. They had one thing... the patient had his music, House had the urge to to fix the seemingly impossible.

Pardon my rant..
