Alright, simple, this is a thread about the reality show Survivor. Who's your favorite survivor of all time or just this season. Who do you hate? If you were on survivor what kind of game would you play? Would try and fly in under the radar? Would you be a follower or be a leader? Would you be the one scheming and manipulating people? Do you even like the show? Do you believe the show to be real or fake? Do you think that Jeff is an @#$?

All time? Rich Hatch (S1), Yau-Man Chan (S14), Chris Daugherty (S9), Yul Kwon (S13), Rob Cesternino (S6+8) all stand out.

This season? Russell (the 'evil' one), Dave and Shambo all stand out as either likable or strong players.

Who do you hate?

Rob Mariano (S4+8) Amber Brkich (S2+8), Stephenie LaGrossa (S10+11), Parvati Shallow (S13+16) pop to mind, but I don't particularly hate any of the players.

Mix of everything. It's important to keep control in the game without it actually seeming like you are in control of it. It's fine line to walk that require the use of many hats.

Do you even like the show? Do you believe the show to be real or fake? Do you think that Jeff is an @#$?

I do like the show, I've watched every season since it started and I've only once (last season) ever considered stopping. I think this current season is excellent evidence that the show can remain both compelling and fresh even after so many seasons. Though not many people like to believe me.

The show is both real and fake, to an extent. There is no predetermined winner, and the challenges are only shot once and they just have a lot of a camera crews and whatnot. But for the past several seasons the majority of the casts have been actors. As in, they are people who are aspiring to act or have had acting experience. They aren't told or cast to play characters, I believe, but they are more likely to put on a 'performance' than an actual person would because they are really somewhat there to advance their careers, which has been a part of the show since the beginning.

The producers and such are quite open about this change in casting process, because they say it is much easier to find the type of personalities they want amongst acting types, who are usually the Type A personality they look for amongst applicants.

As for Dom Jeff, he is the greatest reality show host in the business, and he is awesomely rad.

Richard Hatch was good and I completly agree with Yau-Man Chan, old guy that was winning everything and first guy to make a fake idle, but My favorite survivior is Rupert from the Pearl Island season. Once he pillaged the other teams shoes and sold them for money he became my favorite.

yes Russell is evil but he makes the show interesting to watch. I find Dave to be a strong player but I don't really care to much for Shambo.

Jeff is a good host but I find him to be an @#$ but thats how he's supposed to act I guess.

Rupert was fun to watch the first time around, but when he came back for All-Stars it became readily apparent that he does not have what it takes to win the game. He's a lovable character, but not much of a player.

Dave hasn't done much in terms of gameplay yet, but I get the impression he'd make a smart player. I could be wrong, though. I just get that vibe from him. Shambo I like as a character, but not as a player. She definitely won't win, but she's fun to watch, either as a fish out of water or a bit of a bumbler.

I myself would rather try and fly in under the radar.

Going under the radar can get you pretty far in the game, and it might even get you to the end, but it is never enough to win. The only times its enough is when both final two, by virtue of an upset in the final immunity challenge, are under-radar types. Otherwise the under-the-radar player is always the runner-up.

You have to be willing to actual make moves in the game if you want to be able to argue you deserve to win more than the person (or two people in the case of a final three).

Why did you consider stopping.

The beginning half or so of last season was so boring. There was nothing interesting happening at all. The only thing that kept me tuning in was Coach being the craziest bastard I have ever seen on the how. Oddly enough, the final episode was probably the one of the better ones in recent memories.

This seasons is shaping up to be excellent, though, so I am happily back to watching every week.

Definitely doesn't come off like that to me. I love the Probster.

I think that I would try and fly in under the radar until the merger then I would start becoming player and pushing myself more.
