Youtube uploading help. (pretty plz ^__^ )

I want to upload some of my own performances.

Here's the problem I was made aware of:

If it's strictly an audio file, chances are it's in MP3 or AAC format, not Mpeg 4 (a somewhat vague name for a video format). YouTube only accepts video formats (which can contain a separate audio stream).

YouTube accepts both mp3 and aac compressed audio, but only when they're properly multiplexed as part of a video file.

What program is best suited for "multiplexing" my music with a "video file"

I really just want to upload music, with maybe a thumbnail of the composer or maybe me playing.

Keep in mind my computer only has a stock soundcard and was purchased around 2001 I think. (Pentium IV).

The ram I upgraded to one GB, but everything else is stock as far as I'm aware.

I'm pretty sure you could do that in, like, Windows Movie Maker, or iMovie, or whatever other free program came with your operating system. Except in both cases you'd likely have to convert it, although maybe not, because Quicktime is found all over the Internet still, and Windows file formats are pretty largely supported everywhere.
I dunno, I've never uploaded anything to YouTube.

Just put the music into Windows Movie Maker as the sound track, and put a picture in and stretch it out to the whole song. Adjust the quality to an acceptable file size, and save as wmv...YouTube'll take that easily.

I don't have it right now.
even if it's not I should be able to get it......with zero remuneration involved. ^__^

Hmm, I had thought that Windows Movie Maker came preinstalled on XP.

If you don't have it, the preferred way to get it is to install it through Windows Update.

And yes it's free.

^ if I have it, i've never used it or seen any icons for it,....or seen the folder in the program files....

but yea I should have time to look for it more this friday or something.

If you are a Mac user then you won't have WMM, but something like it installed. Windows computers come with it pre-installed on your computer and it's right in the start menu when you open it. Like so :
