Which operating browser do you use?

I am just curious to see if ZU members correspond to cNet's list of top 10 browsers...

Re: Which operating browser do you use?

I use Firefox. I switched to Google Chrome for a while when my Firefox wouldn't save my login stuff on any sites, but when my HDD died and I had to reinstall everything I went back to Firefox. I just like it and I'm used to it.

Mozilla Firefox, most definitely. I made the switch last year from Internet Explorer, and I've never looked back.

Chrome. Firefox is too cluttered for my tastes, and Internet Explorer just sucks.

Re: Which operating browser do you use?

I use Chrome. I used to use IE and Firefox, but then my laptop got slower. And stopped loading them. So I switched to Chrome. It's fast, it's simple, the layout looks nice and isn't full of cluttered toolbars. It works well.

Re: Which operating browser do you use?

Switched from Firefox to the Safari 4 beta, then to Chrome, then I tried Opera for a while, then I went back to Firefox. Best overall browser.

Cluttered, you say?

It could take up about half as much room if I used the Tinyfox theme, too.

That's weird. When I used Firefox, there were like three lines of buttons and I could only get rid of like one of them.

Re: Which operating browser do you use?

Firefox.

I used to use IE7, but it kept having loading problems on specific pages (my guess is it had something to do with the Flash or Java content). So I tried upgrading to IE8. Not only did this not fix the problems, but it also added a problem-- only some of IE's tabs would work. For instance, the first tab might work, the second one will, the third tab won't, et cetera. So I can only use a specific number of tabs.

That's what pushed me over the edge. Screw it. After changing to Firefox I haven't had a second thought about it. Firefox might be a bit large (and, to some, cluttered), and it has those memory leak issues, but its real strength is its add-ons. The depth of add-ons alone makes Firefox the best browser, because if you don't like something about it, you can most likely change it.

Try using TinyMenu, LittleFox, TreeStyleTabs and Stop and Reload. Then right click on the menu bar, select customize, and move everything from the navigations toolbar into the menu bar. Now turn off the navigations tool bar.

Now go to menu > view and unclick status bar.

You should now have a browser with even more screen real-estate than the one in my screenshot. (I have LittleFox turned off, because my custom GNOME theme makes Firefox look too awesome to use LittleFox.) This is even more than you get with Chrome.

Now all they have to do is make an extension which makes the status bar act like Chromes, and an extension which combines the minimize, maximize, and close buttons into the menu bar.

And Chrome.

Holy **** Chrome's Javascript engine is ****ing amazing. Someone wrote a NES emulator in JS- In Firefox it runs at around 5 FPS. In Chrome you'll get around 60.

It hasn't had memory leak issues since version 2.0.

I probably meant to say memory management issues.
