Opera 10.00
I know most people around here use internet explorer or firefox, but I remain an avid fan of Opera's products. As such I recently downloaded Opera 10.00. As well as still being keeping the customization and options I've come to love it for, it has a few new features.
Ever think your internet is too slow? Well now we have opera turbo. Other than bringing down picture quality quite a bit, it speeds up load times by 2 or even 4 times the original. Speed Dial enhanced. With this update, the speed dial option which opera has had forever, giving 4:3 screens 9 buttons to program as their favorite sites on a new tab, and 16:9 screens 12, we finally see the option to set the grid. Now as many as 25 can be set to a favorite spot. Visual Tabs: There's now a nifty little bar under your tabs so that when you drag it down, you can see a minimized view of the page you were on. I don't expect to use it much myself, but it's like I say, a nifty little tool. There are a few other features, but I think you people probably understand by now the message I'm sending out here: Opera 10.00 is worth the download. Very much worth the download.

Re: Opera 10.00
It's not something a skin can fix, it's design elements that OSX uses that Opera doesn't adhere to, such as the combined title/tool bar.

EDIT: That is, if he ever comes back here.

Re: Opera 10.00
OH NO THIS OPERATES AS A WEAK COUNTER ARGUMENT FOR ANY ARGUMENT EVER CONSTRUCTED.
But really, it's an issue of ethics. The lack of extensions, on the other hand, is an issue of practicality.

Re: Opera 10.00
I think rms addresses this pretty well in this speech. This is not to say that I only run free software. I run quite a bit of proprietary software, however, when I'm given the choice between two equal pieces of software, free and proprietary, I will always choice the free option. Firefox vs. Opera is a very similar situation. The difference between the two browsers is very, very minimal on a practical level. Opera has a few features lacking in vanilla Firefox, but Firefox makes up for this in terms of extensions- every Opera feature can be pretty well emulated through extensions. Thus, there isn't much of a practical argument for Opera. Beyond this, though, extensions give Firefox a significant advantage. There are so many tasks which can be easily accomplished through Firefox extensions which are simply not doable in Opera. Take TreeStyle Tabs, StumbleUpon, URLFlipper, or GreaseFire.

Re: Opera 10.00
A valid point in that vid, but so long as my computer does what I want it to, I don't have a problem. If something stops working or something along those lines, I'll gladly switch, but as is, I am satisfied free or not. I agree it should be free, but I am not so impassioned as to switch.
