Shoddy Battle Help

I copypasta'd this from the Shoddy Forum on Smogon. They were no help. Same for the Pokemon thread.

I downloaded Shoddybattle several days ago and it worked fine. Today however, when I tried to run it, (IIRC) every server showed up as empty. Then, about a minute or two later, a message popped up saying an unknown program was trying to access the internet and could be harmful to my computer. I chose to quarantine it, I assumed it wasn't Shoddybattle. So I tried to run Shoddybattle again, but this time, it said it could not find javaws. So I tried to run the command that is listed in the main site of Shoddybattle.com. Again, the javaws message showed up. So I deleted Shoddybattle and tried to download it again. Now, when I try to run it, it says it needs to be opened with an application. This did not happen the first time I downloaded Shoddybattle. But when I try to run it with Firefox for example, all it does is open a new Firefox tab.

I checked in McAffee (or whatever it is) for the programs it was blocking, and Java/Shoddy did not show up on the list.

Please help, the lack of Shoddy has driven me insane.

I don't think you need to run it with a browser (but I could be wrong).
Have you been able to run it in the past?
Could be a router or computer firewall issue.

I was able to run it just fine. And I was just using Firefox as an example. IIRC, you need to run it with java web start. According to the people at Smogon, I need to reinstall Java and unquarantine Shoddy. I reinstalled Java, but I don't know how to unquarantine it.

you need to use whatever program you quarantined it with to un-quarantine it. It depends on the program how you go about doing that.

or you could un-install said quarantining program and then re-install shoddy battle.
