ah, just a simple overclock on the memory. If your CPU's faster than your memory (the CPU has built in memory, and it has to match the additional memory to function to it's fullest) it can do this.

I don't know but it's starting to get on my nerves too.

I use Vista Home Premium, and while it does have some features I could do without (no support for PNG on background switcher for one), I really don't mind using it. Also, it was cheaper to buy Vista than to buy XP at the time I was building my PC (and it still is).

I bought my laptop with vista installed already.

I use windows xp. Always have, always will.

Ubuntu (Linux) is my primary OS for development and school. I have Windows XP installed into Virtual Box for web browser testing. I have a Windows XP dual boot as well strictly for gaming purposes.

sugarpoultry runs on Windows Vista. It came with the computer, but we both hate it. We're debating whether to go Windows XP or run Windows 7. Win7 looks more promising at this point.

I use Vista. It has its nuances, but I don't mind. You get used to it after a while.

I'd really suggest Win7 - my friend said that it's Vista minus all the bull**** and I sincerely have to agree.

We tried Windows 7 and it wasn't doing so hot either. We're back to XP. Vista was crap.

I have a Vista...

At work: Red Hat Linux on Main computer and Windows XP (Gov Agencies didn't approve Vista for work comps so yea.) on secondary computer.

At home: Vista on laptop (too lazy to switch), OSX on G4, XP on desktop, and red hat for other desktop.


Hooray. Vista doesn't bother me too much.

I partitioned my disk (mac) to run XP.
Its pretty neat. Though I'm shot of an activation key for XP home edition.
I guess if I can't find one, I'll save all my apps and stuff, and use win7 with the partition.

OS X is the only reason to get a Mac and you install XP on it? =/

I use Vista, currently (not even Ultimate ;_; ).
I've tried OS X before on a friend's machine, and really liked it.

On the plus side, though, Vista's pretty good for me. I don't mess around with things too technical, so it's easy enough for a computer novice like me to use, and certainly carries out the usual functions well enough.

Vista Ultimate is a waste of money. Home premium will do anything you need it to (save for full-disk encryption being built-in, which most people don't need.)

I have it there, been using OSX since it came out!
I just need TF2 and the such, so I had to partition something to a PC. :\

No, emulators don't work efficiently.

Doesn't even function with emulators like VMWare and stuff by the by.

As for running, its great. I'd recommend doing it to any apple user. It has its flaws and etc. but that's because its only windows XP. If I had chosen to run win7beta, I bet it'd be flawless.
Just a few minor screen jumps durin game, and audio 'hissing' from the speakers at startup and when its muted. I assume the audio problem can be fixed, but I'm too lazy to care.

Because in another 20 days XP will run out, and I'll be forced to run something else.
