What operating system do you use?

But Vista is lovely.

Vista's working great for me, I don't see what the big deal is.

My desktop has vista.

Mac OS X.

Vista, hopefully going to upgrade to 7 when it comes out.

I have Mac OS X, Vista 32bit and Ubuntu Linux running on various machines. I have to say that Mac OS X is my favorite by far, but Vista isn't as horrible as people are saying it is. If you actually put time and money into a good computer (I built mine, it's ripping fast) then it's perfectly fine. Sure there are kinks in it's code, but whatever. I can live with those and anyone that really has that much of a problem really needs to get out more.

In general, for the people that have used it, would you say that using OS X86 has been successful? Or should I just straight up buy a mac?

I can't ever find a time where buying a Mac would be advantageous, period, unless you get a 35% discount.
osx86 is useful if you take your time to find the proper hardware.

Well, I'm going to be build a computer soon, what's a setup that you recommend?

I'm not too fond of the 9800 GTX but it's the one that handles Leopard the best. If you're going with Windows I'd rather have a GTX260, HD4770, HD4850, or HD4870. Else, stick with the 9800 GTX.

Before I accidentally broke my desktop's hard drive, I ran Windows 7 Ultimate. Perfect OS for me, I say. The transparent theme worked better than the non-transparent Vista theme. Generally, everything was faster, therefore, Windows 7 gets my approval.

Vista, and apart from the rather long boot-up time, I don't find anything wrong with it. AND I'm getting the free Windows 7 upgrade.

Can you use bootcamp with OS X86. Sorry for the noob question.

I'm actually thinking of just picking up an iMac from the apple store thats a refurb.

If you mean dualboot, yes, that's possible with all PC's.

Currently using Snow Leopard on my brand new iMac and loving every bit of it.

Same here. I got Snow Leopard and I'm loving it.
