Viewing the ZU Forums on DSi Browser!

I found out how to do it! In fact, I'm typing this on my DSi now!

Previously, at least for me, the forums would fail to load. All that would be displayed were the Home, Mailbag, Articles, and Gallery links in the top-left corner, the logo, and a horizontal line near where the log-in area would be. The message "Out of memory. Page may not display correctly." would appear on the top screen.

I have, quite obviously since I'm typing this on my DSi Browser, found the solution to this problem! No it is not lime pie (inside joke. don't ask).

First, go to the start page. Then tap Settings. The second setting down is called "Download Images". Tap no. This now means that images will not load; instead alternate web text, which you can read anyway if you put your mouse cursor over an image on a computer, will take the place of images. This will free much of the system's RAM (Random Access Memory, for non-techies), allowing more to be dowloaded and displayed. While it may seem tragic to some of you that images like avatars, siggies, and the lovely ZU design at the top of the screen will not show up, it certainly is better than not being able to visit my favorite website on the internet...on the go!

So basically. Use the mobile skin.

My method makes it so you don't need to use the mobile skin. Besides, before I switched image downloading off, the skin changer menu thing never loaded so I couldn't have done that. I would have if I could have.

Turn off images, enable mobile skin, enable images.

Congratz man. If you told me that this was impossible on a PSP, it might just make me buy a DSi...

DSi Browser questions:

Ok I know that the DSi isn't capable of watching YouTube vids and the like (however there's been word the Skype may come to the DSi), but how about streaming audio? Take this LOST website for example and press play on that PodCast.

How long does downloading images take? I personally love to read webcomics, and I was just thinking if it's at all possible to view them

If you can answer these questions, I'd be thankful because it would determine if I should buy a DSi or not.

If you want to read comics and stream music, the dsi is not for you. The dsi has slow browsing. It can take 10-60 seconds to load one 8-bit theater comic. And I can only imagine that audio would be worse...

Hopefully, the DSi will get a flash plugin update soon, I really was anticipating being able to go on Youtube too .

However, I did what you did the first day I got my DSi to post in the Farorian Utopia. No one seemed to notice though....

Just out of curiousity, would you say it is easier or harder than using an ipod touch browser?

I wonder if I could go to this website on my mom's iPhone... hmm. Anyway, good job! By the way, is the DSi as good as you hoped it would be?~ ^^

The DSi is everything I hoped it would be! Although, I still think it was pointless to leave a GBA slot out. Plus, they should start selling GameBoy Virtual Console games on the shop, which they don't, at least not yet. But yeah.

I've been using my DSi to go on ZU more than my computer lately. I don't know why though.

My dad has been using his iPhone to check his email more then his computer too. Mostly because he doesn't want to wait the 10 seconds or whatever for it to start up! Teehee~

You can get on the internet on the DSi I didn't know that... Then again I haven't really looked at the DSi on the internet so...
