Then watch series. Take Prison Break, Lost, or House, for example?
Most episodes of House or Lost are more than 20 minutes.

You could watch a part of that movie, and finish it when you get home.
I could, but that would break the flow, like commercials, only longer.

I am only guessing, but I think Nintendo will have a good selection of GB, GBC, and GBA available through their download service.[/QUOTE]

Which cost money, and its a lot better just to play the game on what it was made to be played on.

It takes you more than 5 minutes to get from your bus to your house?

Why not? Even higher FPS and in a lot of cases even better controls. Better sound, too.

Split in two. Problem solved. Watch Digimon or any anime if you want 20m episodes.

What's going to happen is Nintendo will build a Gameboy ______ emulator for the DSi for the Virtual Console games. Somebody will crack the DSi. You'll then be able to download and play any rom you want of a Gameboy game, all with perfect emulation because Nintendo built it and the Gameboy Advance hardware is built-in.

I see your pint, however, what I love most about the ds is I can play 2 players on the go with family, friends, random stranger at coffee house, etc. If I only played ds alone I would consider that, and yeah the sound would be alot better.

You just don't give up do you? XD

I normally like to watch my movies and TV episodes in one sitting. Imagine going into a movie theater three times for one movie.

personally, i don't see alot of use in the camera, but you can make some hilarious edits to the pictures
I think it is awesome! About the pictures, I heard you can use them in future games. I think the reason a lot of people don't want it is because they don't know that soon, you will be able to download GB and GBA games virtual console style on the DSi Shop. Another reason is that they don't now that soon, there will be DSi only titles.

Re: Nintendo DSi

There won't be many DSi only titles.

The DS is 4.5 years old, and this is the second major revision to it.

As such, the vast majority of DSes that will ever be sold are DS Lites and "Phats", with the DSi coming in a distant third. Developers would be foolish, to say the least, to target the smallest possible market.

You might see a few games that have bonus features for the DSi, but that's about it.

And, of course, I own all the GB/GBA games I want to (save one, admittedly) and losing the ability to play them so that I can buy them again is not a thrilling proposition.

Re: Nintendo DSi

Not likely, no.

I think Wario Ware *somethingorother* is the only one currently extant, and I very much doubt there'll be any more. It would be like releasing games that could only be played on the Gameboy Micro: An utterly ridiculous business decision.

If you have a Lite, no. If you don't have a DS at all, yes. Then again, the loss of the GBA Slot is kinda big. The music (The ability to put music on it to listen to) quality isn't that great, its only to mess around with. The photo quality isn't that great either.

Again, I point out the magnitude of having the SD card slot and the ease of hacking and emulation. I can more or less guarantee it will be hacked and emulated within months of today. SD cards go up to 64 Gb now, that's more than enough for the entire SNES, NES, and GBA ROM library, all on a handheld with no need for expensive card readers and system modification.

Also, the DS has the ability to play video, if anyone has ever tried a GBA flash cart installer with one of the DS video players they have floating around on the net. A player made specifically for SD card installation can't be that far away either.

I understand the pure appeal of being able to use the old GBA cartidges you paid money for, I still have a few (although I also still have my SP.) Regardless, this really doesn't matter to someone who sold theirs or doesn't play them, an emulator is a much cheaper and more convenient option.

Plus, as several have pointed out, there are so many homebrew possibilities with expandable memory. The DS is on par with the PSP now, which has a truly incredible homebrew/emulation community.

Re: Nintendo DSi

Well I got my DSi today and I think that it is much better than either the DS/DSlite. It has internet downloadable games and a camera and um, um,um and a music thingy.

That's not much of an incentive to upgrade, though.

"Now you can pay over $100 to buy something that allows you to (maybe, in a few months) use a workaround to do something you can already do."

As far as salespitches go, it needs work.

For less money, you can purchase an outdated PSP and run custom firmware on it.

Well, not really. You can't play SNES or NES games on it, which is a huge plus for me. You can't watch videos, you can't really do anything homebrew without special equipment.

Most stores offer trade-ins for the lite as well, I'm planning on getting one friday, I'm only paying 70$.

So basically, you're upgrading the possibilities immensely (also, portable emulation of DS games. It's more morally dubious, but definitely a plus for someone who doesn't care.)
