Desktop-wise, I tend to prefer dark backgrounds that have strong but not singular focal points, subdued colours, with fairly abstract, organic imagery with gradients and smoothly-fading tones rather than abrupt, sharp edges. In otherwords, I like ones that aren't too demanding to look at but can still be looked at more closely if I want to, and are easy on the eyes. They also have to work well with my IRC program, which has a sidebar on the right at all times.

That's nothing to be proud of at all. Buy your games, scum. Each of those games was worked on by dozens if not hundreds of people for literally tens of thousands of hours over the course of years. Do you commission a carpenter to build a cabinet for you, then sneak around out back and take it from him without paying? The anonymity the Internet provides no excuse. It's theft, and you are a thief, and it shows a complete lack of respect in other human beings. Disgusting.
