Oh Nenny, it look goregous! I love that minimalistic feel (perhaps why I love Yami's desktops so much). Its also very girly too ^_^

Whenever I feel in the mood of changing my desktop up, I usually trawl Customize.org for a few hours and select a bunch of wallpapers I like. I save them into a folder, then let the judging commence.

I usually pair it with a visual theme and style I'm going for, and with this one, minimalism struck me after checking out lots of other desktops by some designers I like. Funny how an old friend from an old forum who used to do sprite design now does a lot of amateur design work and has done a few fabulous wallpapers and visual themes. Small world.

At the time of when I selected that specific wallpaper and desktop theme, I pretty much just finished customising my Foobar media player with someone else's custom PanelsUI config. I just tweaked up some colours, resized it, and then went on from there.

Customize.org has a great feature where you can sort wallpapers by what colour you are looking for, which helps if you're trying to establish a specific theme. Usually I have a specific colour in mind for what I'm going for, and sometimes, I even pair it to what kind of mood my current music habits are in.

I started my wallpaper binging a few years ago, when I came across Spoono.com and it's sister network site Spoonloads.com (not updated so much). And my tastes just went on from there.

Deviantart is too much of a pain to trawl through tons of crap, so Customize is simple enough to get the job done when after various designs.

I stopped doing the whole anime character wallpaper years ago. It just looks tacky half the time.

I use it for everything. Even to browse with (great accessing my portable harddrive with).

gamewallpapers (if you have a subscription there)

Mine currently, might switch it to my old Jojo wallpaper though.

I think I remember you posting that picture in a previous Desktop thread.

Also, Filefront would be better for desktop screenshots since you can upload any image size. And a filesize limit of 750 kb isn't too bad either.
