Display Problems with Custom Built Computer

Hello, I am writing this very agitated so if I come off jerkish please forgive me.

I just finished putting together my own computer and I am not getting anything on my moniter, it just says No Signal. The power comes on to everything (fans, processor, hard drive, etc.) but there is no visual outputs at all. I am at a loss. It has onboard graphics and an 8800gt graphics card, neither works. I spent alot of money on this thing and if anyone has anything they can input that might be helpful I would greatly appreciate it.

start testing parts. something might be DOA and you might have to return it. try using only one stick of RAM and in varying slots.

those are the free solutions anyway. if you can narrow it down...

Umm... DOA?

And I tried the RAM slot thing, still no difference, I am turning it in to a PC Tech guy (he does it for a living) and hes a good friend, but still if there is any more advice, I'd like to hear it.

P.S. Is that Power Rangers in you sig?

The best thing to do is to strip the PC down to the core components.
You should only need:

Power Supply
Motherboard
CPU
One Stick of RAM

Plug your monitor into the onboard video and that should work.
Otherwise slot in your 8800GT and plug your cable into that.

But the onboard should work.

8800GT plugged into the PSU as well?

Mh, might sound like something else is faulty. Try connecting up your monitor to the onboard VGA/DVI output on the mobo and see if that works, and if so, you would need to change over the main video output in your BIOS.

So, the monitor doesn't work no matter if you use the video card or onboard video?

Tell me, are there any beeps when you power it on? If so that's likely your MoBo telling you that it's got a problem, and it's manual should tell you what that problem is.

The problem might be something hooked up when it is not supposed to be hooked up, or there might be a setting in the BIOS that was changed. Or, if something was killed by static electricity. If someone handled the parts without wearing a static grounder or handled the parts while not wearing shoes and standing on a mat or carpet (which would conduct static electricity through the body) and if they touched a part, it could have killed the part. You could also try putting some of the parts that you think might have something wrong with them into another computer (if you can) to see if the problem is with a single part and to see which one it could be.
Just some thoughts...

Is it a new monitor? Try another one just in case.
