any reader should be compatible with either. worst case scenario you flash the firmware.
EDIT: was thinking drive for a PC well you might be SOL, blu ray discs are regionally encoded so unless you wnat to import movies... FYI going rate for entry level blu ray players is around $150ish now.

NSTC and PAL are region encoding for media.
Most European and Australasian areas use PAL, America and Japan use NSTC. If you buy a PAL blu-ray player, expect to also buy PAL encoded media. |

So basically if I buy a PAL blu ray I have to buy PAL movies? In that case I think I'll just find an NSTC one here.
