God damn....funny.

Try clearing your cache and deleting a few things, like useless programs, if there are any.

P.S.

Don't ask me how to clear cache's.

Funny stuff here.
And you know, I have the same problem, except it happens when I turn it on. It goes away eventually, but in the meantime, the screen just sits there blank. It's annoying. It may be the same problem, so thats why I'm posting it here.

Anyways, clearing your cache won't help, that's if your web browser is acting up.

I guess I'll try some standard questions:
When did this start happening?
What did you change around the time this started? (Anything at all)
What programs did you install/uninstall around when this happened?
Are there any other symptoms? (Weird noises, slower-than-usual startup, etc.)
Are you sure you're telling it to shut down and not to hibernate?

A few weeks ago.
The internet
The internet
Nope
I'm pretty sure because when it hibernates the power button light goes off.

My screen is especially annoying because I have one dead pixel on the moniter.

I've run virus scans before and nothing has come up. But I'll run one right now and check.

You are an idiot. What the hell does the internet cache have to do with this? It could be a hardware conflict, rather than software.

Try unplugging your ethernet cable/wireless usb/whatever-the-hell-you-use before you shut down, then try that.

Man I just have to tell you that its just Vista. Vista has so many bugs that Microsoft can't keep up, and most everyone I know that has Vista hates it. If you can find someone with Lenix, it will bring the joy back to your compy.

Moblin, it's not "just Vista".

Vista is not, in fact, incredibly buggy. My install has remained bug-free for the past month, and, in fact, is running much better than my family's XP machine.

Considering every post in this thread, including yours, before GDwarf's initial one was basically spam, I think I'll take my liberties.
