Other people's brushes? O.o

I can't find any places for questions on graphics so guess I'll post it here.

Does anyone consider it ill-talented and such to use brushes other people have made available for download?

The fact that the person in question has made their brush available for download suggests that they want you to use it, so I'm sure it's fine from a moral standpoint.

But from the "originality/only using your own work" standpoint, I think that it may matter if you're a professional and making money, but for Photoshop amateurs who are just having fun playing with their programs, they shouldn't care about that sort of thing.

I don't think I'd consider myself an amateur. xD...

But I don't really intend on making money with signatures or wallpapers anyway. O.o xD

Most commonly an amateur is understood to be someone who does something without pay or formal training. Conversely, a professional is someone who has received training in a particular area and who also makes a living from it.

Unless you're making a living from/had real training in the area, you're an amateur. I don't think it means what you think it means. :3

xD Well my problem is I either can't seem to get the effects right, or I don't take enough time to make my own. o.o
