iTunes: Convert Wav to MP3?

Hey, I'm trying to convert some sound wav files to MP3. I tried following some instructions on the Internet, but I didn't seem to have what they have.

Supposedly, you go to Advanced > Convert, but the only converting option I have is "Convert Selection to AAC," which does not convert the file to MP3.

If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it! ^_^

I THINK this is how you do it:

Go to Edit -> Options -> Advanced tab -> Importing tab

Make sure the "Import Using" option is set to mp3, and set your quality setting as well (192 kb/s should be the BARE MINIMUM, but that's only if you're crazy obsessed with quality like me).

Find the track you want to convert in your library, right click and there should be a 'convert selection to mp3' option.

I think that's how its done. It's been awhile since I had to set mine up to convert, but I think that's how I did it.

Okay, I got that to work. Now, how do I save it as an MP3 file?

Once it's been converted, it should just make an mp3 copy in your iTunes music folder.

And where can I find this iTunes music folder? I've been searching for it.

I don't know if it's any different on a PC, but on a Mac you can simply right click and the option of "convert selection to MP3" is available.

But.. Once it's AAC you should be able to convert it to MP3 by either right clicking on the song or going to Advanced>Convert selection to MP3.

Um. It's wherever all your actual music is? Mine is in My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes -> iTunes music, but that doesn't mean yours is there. Wherever you put your music files is where the library is...because that's what your library actually is.

iTunes can do it. In prefrences, set the conversion type to MP3. Then select the song and Do Advanced->convert to MP#
