White Screen of Death on Sony Ericsson?

Hi,

Does anybody know anything about the 'White Screen of Death' or WSoD on Sony Ericsson phones? Because I found my phone flashing white... constantly.
I tried to switch it off and switch it back on again but it still comes up with a white screen. Then I took the battery off and then placed it back in. Still didn't work. Then I was charging the phone by the wall. A battery appeared on the screen and show it was charging so I was relieved. After a couple of hours later, the phone was still charging! I don't think it was properly charging the battery, i'm not sure. Then I removed the battery but still kept the phone plugged to the wall (just an experiment I tried out). It was on but still flashing the white screen on and off. Also, the infrared port flashes for about 6 seconds and then stops.

What I'm asking is has anyone experience this problem before? And if you have, what did you do to resolve the problem? Also, is there a way to get rid of the White Screen of Death or is it there forever?

My phone is a Sony Ericsson W810i if that helps.

do you keep your phone in your back pocket?

No i don't keep it in my back pocket. But i have been researching about it and it says that its caused by pulling out the USB from the computer USB port.

Now my phone keeps on vibrating constantly and the white light stays on when i switch it on. The ony way to stop it is to remove the battery.

Awww bum. :S. What shall I do about it then? Should i try and return it? luckily it's still under garantee (sp?). And thanks Gorondude for trying to find out stuff. And thanks to everyone who has replied so far.

it's still under guarantee? hell yeah bring it back, you never could've known that pulling out the cable will mess up your phone.

oh yeah word of advice when they fixed it, dont ever put your cell phone in your back pocket and sit on it, it will give you the same effect
