Another problem..

Well I found this installer thats supposed to make it super easy to put Linux on iPods. People on ipod wizard forums have installed it on their Videos but have had problem with 80GB. I have a 30GB and noone has had a problem with it. Great! I have been wanting Linux on it for awhile but it sounds so complicating. So I went to download This little thing here Once I did this it came up with a screen that said "Windows Cannot open the folder. The compressed (Zipped) folder is invalid"

Rawr!! *Sigh* whats wrong? And what do I do? Im not the smartest when it comes to things like this. So can someone PLEASE help me out? I really want to be able to use Linux on my iPod.

Re: Another problem..

I've heard of doing it. I also have heard that it is eaxtreamly glitchy and dosn't really work. My question is how do you use the click wheel for an advanced game such as doom? Are there attachments availible?

Re: Another problem..

There are many other methods of doing this manually. It can be a bit tricky to do at first, and more dangerous, but you'll learn a lot more in the process, get a better understanding of how it works, and get some actual use with Linux. This is the only way I've ever put Linux on an iPod. I find it more fun and challenging. If you're up for it, I could help you out with it.
I first off suggest you get iPod Loader 2 onto your iPod (which is the bootloader) and get a Linux Live CD, probably Ubuntu.
You can follow the instructions on the Loader 2 page to install it from Windows. Just follow them carefully, make sure to check all your commands you enter for typos. And also, you can often search the iPodLinux forums and find the answer to your question.

Re: Another problem..

I give up. Im just not meant to have to have Linux on my ipod. Nothing I do works. I have tried all the installers on the site and none of them work for me.
