help with photoshop cs2

I just downloaded photoshop cs2 for my computer. I have it installed and everything but when I got to open photoshop it wants me to extract files. When i press extract it starts extracting but when it says extracted photoshop read me.wri it freezes,Help?

^ That may mean that the computer simply isn't capable of handling the file. Photoshop is an annoying large file size. If the computer is older, that may be the cause of it freezing. Even on this computer, which I got during the summer, Photoshop can almost freeze the computer. If that's the only problem you're having, try making sure that absolutely all other programs are closed before messing with the Photoshop files.

That's what I'd try, at least.
