NES Hookups

Time to revert back to the... Whatever time it was, folks!

So, usually our NES hooks up easily, and we do it the same way every time -- Never forgetting the GameCube game boxes to push the cartridge forward, of course!


Oh, but of course, nowadays the NES plays the right music, with the sound of static above it, and also the images are pale.

It plays fine with the volume down all the way, but still, is there a way to fix it?

Well, the insides of the NES are pretty outdated, so that's obviously the reason why it sounds and looks the way it does. I've taken apart my NES once before, but couldn't really navigate where much was, it's basicaly one giant PCB.

Look around on the web or Google it and maybe you could find some mods for it.

The thought of taking anything apart scares me. And just checking, but a mod is a modification... Right?

Oh, and before I forget, what's a PCB? XD

yes, a "mod" is a modification, and a PCB is a Printed Circuit Board.

Going inside would be the only way I know of. Since the NES was just an 8-bit system, there isn't much room for anyhting over the graphics capabilities it had when it first came out. And for the sound, it was jsut all the system could handle with the simple beeps and bits.

No, like, you can hear the sound, and over that, there's static. I remember what good ol' Kirby's Adventure sounded like... But now... It's ruined. Curse you, static!

NES games are like sushi! They're awesome, but much better when they're dead. But that's what ROMs are for.

More like why we have Virtual Console.

**** Virtual Console. VC games can't be played online like ROMs can.

If all else fails, check Vintage Stock or a place like that- see if you can get another one.

Im not really sure with that different model, but with I bought an original model a few years back from a swapmeet for $13, and fixed the 72 pin connector and it works at 100%.

Try it...if it applies to that model. There are guides online for how to do it.
