iPod HELP!

Yeah well, see this is what happened. My friend let me borrow the iPod he "found" and he asked me to put in my own songs while he's getting his computer fixed. Okay, when I pressed restore on my computer it removed all of the songs that I had on it and well, when it was done the screen sort of froze. it's just stuck of a picture of charger (with the block thing you add to it so it can go into the outlet) with an arrow pointing to the outlet. On top of all of that, when I connect it to the computer it doesn't read it. it just stays the same. And it not having power can't be it cause I had it fully charged before I even tried to put songs on. Help?

Re: iPod HELP!

I have found that also flicking the lock/unlock switch thingy at the top of it solves the problem.

Re: iPod HELP!

Just a question, did you eject it from the computer through iTunes, or just through the remove hardware thing in the taskbar, or not at all? Removing it without ejecting it can sometimes freeze it, mine did something like that once, plugging it in and ejecting it through iTunes fixed the problem.

Otherwise, I know there's a way to reset it somehow back to being off, then it should be able to turn on. It may erase the music, I don't know. It's in the book, which isn't around right now. If no one gets back to you before tomorrow (for me), I can probably look in the book for something to help.

Good luck trying to get it fixed, though.

EDIT: Scott, is that the reset code or something else?

Re: iPod HELP!

Yea, that''s the reset code. It doesn't erase any music. Restoring does.

Mm, I didn't think resetting did but I wasn't totally sure. Thanks.

I'd suggest trying that before anything more drastic.

Edit: Also, yeah, I was trying to restore it and it just froze, it wasn't being signaled or whatever on my computer so i disconnected it and it just stopped.
