Zune Question

Hey, I have been thinking of either getting an ipod vid 30gb or a zune 30gb and I wanted to know all the pros and cons of both. Right now I'm leaning towards the Z, but I recently heard something about your songs going away after a month or something and when after you buy the songs off the marketplace they go away too. What's up with that?

Re: Zune Question

Nobody knows anything about the Zune, as everyone is buying iPods. With good reason. The iPod has been araound long enough that there's hardly any bugs on it anymore. Plus: Microsoft=evil
Apple=less evil

Re: Zune Question

Of course, you could merely not listen to people biased towards one product or another, like the person above, and instead check out many various reviews on both devices from a number of sources.

Myself? I have no stance really. The Zune strikes out more to me anyway, mainly cause of the huge screen which is extremely vibrant and has many positive comments on. The interface is also very easy to use so I hear, and I am personally rather bored of Apple rehashing the same product over and over with minimal new features between each transition. However, I will give the iPod credit due to it's rather sexy design, and simple smooth curves as well as the simple GUI that it sports. Shame about direct connectivity to iTunes, which I find to be a horrible application, and you cannot connect it to other players without 3rd party software.

It also depends on how you want to use each device. If I recall, each player is MTP and requires software such as either Windows Media Player or iTunes. If you want to merely drag and drop, I suggest looking elsewhere, and I recall many problems and complaints from users using iTunes to have their library be wiped clean off their iPod.

Google for reviews on both products, like I said earlier, and you should be able to make your own mind up.

Re: Zune Question

I've never used the Zune, but I've heard that it's a fairly solid device. I personally like the extra large screen on the Zune. I agree with Yami on the thought that Apple continues to just rehash the idea of the iPod. I have an iPod(if I could find it) and I have loved it. It's a first gen nano and is pretty reliable for all the stuff I put it through.
