All TVs aren't going to be HDTV. SDTVs will still be sold, but simply with a digital ATSC tuner inside instead of an old NTSC.

I wouldn't really agree with that. Local HD channels=practically all you need. Add on a couple of freebies like HBO HD, EPSN HD, Music Television HD (or whatever it's called now), TNT HD, Discovery HD (teh Wootz), and PBS HD (once again teh wootz) and you won't even feel like checking SD channels anymore.
Plus this year both Comcast and DirecTV are introducing a plethora of new channels thanks to a new stop and go casting system.
