Sony E-Ink
I was sitting in my science class today and I was very bored, so I came up with this.
Its purpose it to make fun of the 400$ sony thinks it can get for its E Ink books. Just go to sony.com to read more about them, if you don't already know what it is. Read it as though it is being presented live from a TV or radio. "... Sony has released a new product used for reading text. It is called E Ink. It is easy on the eyes because it has no backlight and you can download files off of the internet and load them to your "E-Reader". Then, you can read this text on the go! Something like this has never been attempted before! Although many companys are releasing things called "Bow-Ocks" for competing with the E Ink. The "Bow-Ocks" will only be able to display one story and more "Bow-Ocks" will have to be purchased of you want to read different things. The advantage of the "Bow-Ocks" is the vast library already avaliable for them. E-Ink will boast many titles at launch, but not as many as the "Bow-Ocks" already have. Another advantage is that these "Bow-Ocks" only cost about 10$ apiece! Wait, I am pronouncing this wrong, it is not "Bow-Ock", but Book!... Next week we look at the 1000$ Sony New-Zpapper." What do you think about both the story and the E Ink?

Re: Sony E-Ink
What's wrong with this thing again? It's something that should eventually replace today's books, and in the process save trees and manufacturing costs. Eventually, I envision this being a thin product - only a little thicker than an SD card - that replaces all sorts of printed information.
If you don't like the pricetag on this kind of device this early in it's lifespan, wait ten years. In the meantime, find something better to do with your time. |

Re: Sony E-Ink
This new-fangled 'paper' is silly. Just use clay tablets, you fool!
I think this 'prining press' is silly. Just buy a hand-written manuscript, you fool!

Re: Sony E-Ink
I've heard of the E-Ink for a while know, and I think it's cool. Having one tablet instead of many books is nice for those who read a lot (not me!), however, yet again, Sony is charging way too much for their product. $400?!? Highway robbery! I could just buy a Laptop for that much and I'd be able to do much more. The only thing I'd sacrifice is lightness, but who cares?
I think the E-Ink has some potential, but I think it's only worth, at best, $200. |

Do you think that in 1000 years, people will be able to read the story you just put on your eink? No, because even if the screen lasted that long, the internal components, such as memory, would not.
