T&L capable PCI Graphics Card.

I recently bought a Dell Dimension E310 (which is why I haven't been online for months, my new computer doesn't have Internet access yet). It's wonderful; I've got 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM, a hyper-threaded Pentium 4 524 processor operating at 3.06 GHz, I've got a 17" flat panel monitor, and an 80 GB ATA hard drive.

There's just one problem: The display adapter in my computer is an Intel 82910/915 GL Express Edition Chipset, and Star Wars Battlefront prompts me "No T&L detected on your display adapter. Continue anyway?" when I put the disc in. The game still runs fine even though Transform and Lighting isn't supported by my display adapter, but every time it has to load something, the screen goes black for exactly one minute and fifteen seconds. It's not loading, it just sits there until the loadup screen finally starts up. LucasArts.com, Intel.com, and Dell.com all tell me that this is because my display adapter doesn't support T&L.

So, I need to buy a graphics card that supports T&L for the game to run perfectly. I'm not willing to spend more than $50 on it. Any suggestions on a PCI graphics card that supports T&L for less than $50? I'd really appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this subject.

Re: T&L capable PCI Graphics Card.

Are u sure you dont have a AGP slot, because your not going to get anywhere with PCI.

Though this might work... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814129046

Um, I don't have an AGP slot, but I do have a PCI express slot, and I've heard that they're a faster, better alternative to the AGP. Would a PCI express slot have anything?

Hey, are you sure those graphics cards in your links are T&L capable? They look promising, but I'm not buying one until I'm absolutely sure...

Well. your problem is definatley the integrated card, those things stink!

Not true. The ATI Radeon 9200 is a great, cheap card that performs very well. It can even run games like Half-Life and Doom...but not very well. But it would tear through Battlefront.

Oh, Yes! The PCI-Express has everything as far as graphics cards go...but for $50...I'd go with the Radeon 9200, but feel free to look around newegg for a PCI-e card that might intrest you.

Or, if you're feeling really adventerous...Ebay!

Ah, PCI-E, that changes it a bit. A (very quick) search on NewEgg turned this up, I don't know a lot about the card specifically, but a quick glance over it's specs makes me think that it's what you're looking for. However, hunt around some more, I'm sure that you can find a better deal then that.

Re: T&L capable PCI Graphics Card.

Your best chance at under $50 and a fairy good card is:

7300LE

But if I was you being on a tight budget, just top it up slightly more:

Re: T&L capable PCI Graphics Card.

Okay, thanks, guys. Lots of these cards look great, and I still might be able to find another good one since you introduced me to newegg.com. Thanks again. This thread can be locked.
