Cell Phones

This isn't about help with a phone, to start.

For a little while, my father has been looking for a phone plan. We've finally decided on one, but now we need to think about what kind of phones we should get. My dad just wants something simple, but I'd like a phone with some nice functions - the Motorola RAZR has caught my eye. However, I heard those weren't so good from one of my dad's friends who works at Radio Shack, so I've decided to look into some others.
So here's where my questions come in. What would be a good and dependable, yet simple phone that you could recommend(for my father)? And what kind of phone would you recommend that has some nice functions but is also dependable?

Much appreciation to those who reply. ^_^

Re: Cell Phones

Well honestly it really depneds on what carrier you go with, I mean I Have a freind that got the RAZR with verizon and it sucks balls. However I have the RAZR with cingualr and it is the best phone that I have ever had...and is saying alot considering I sell cellular phones for a living. So I would say the RAZR is you ended up going with cingular, but if you are going verizon the the LG 8100 is a great phone if they still make it that is

I have razr with verizon...What's the problem? I would get the razr. Besides, around here, verizon is the best service around.

Re: Cell Phones

If you wanna save money like I did, then I have a geat phone for you. I have T-mobile, and instead of buying the phone I got the free phone. It's not a flip phone, but it does have a camera on the back which is cool. Also it has these grippie things on the side, and when the phone rings they light up different colors which is neat. Since it's not a flip phone you won't have to worry about breaking it, it's very durable. If you can I would reccomend this phone, it gets the job done.

Well in general I suppose that a RAZR with verison is not so bad, but up where I live in WA is sure is....and verizon does not even have the bad of service. But hell if you have a RAZR with verizon and it works more power to ya mate. Just saying that for the money there are better phones out there than the RAZR, and the RAZR quality.
