How do you burn a video file onto a CD?

I'm trying to burn a fan made Twilight Princess trailer onto a disc. How do I do that? Everytime I try it only playbacks the audio and there's no video?

Re: How do you burn a video file onto a CD?

Depending on the format of the video. If it's in mpeg, I think you can just burn it as a VCD through CD burner programs such as Nero. If it's in .avi format, I think you need to convert it into mpeg first before you can burn it onto a CD as VCD or the such.

If you just want to burn it onto a CD as a file not as a VCD or any other kind of media, just grab a blank CD and use a CD burner program to burn it into the disc.

sometimes I think if you have windows xp, you can put the video in a folder. Afterwords, you go to the folder and hit move selected items to burn[its on the side of the folder]you goi to the place it moved it to and ask it to burn. I hope it works.

Yea it's a .wmv file. Do I need to convert that to avi or mpeg or something? When I burn the trailer onto a blank cd-r it only plays back the video and theres no audio. Do I need a dvd-r or should a regular cd-r be good enough? The trailer is a little over 7 minutes in length.
