music files not working!

yeah I've come back to ZU to write this one and only question. how do I get my music files to work. sounds like the startup sound and music in games work but whenever I try to open a midi or wav file it doesn't work. I tried to re-save them from the internet and I've tried to open them every way I can but the windows media player box won't show up. what's really annoying is that the only way I've found to make music work outside of games is to right click the file, go properties, and click preview. but that doesn't loop. help please
