Re: Switched to FireFox

you can just copy and paste the icon to the desktop...

Go to the start menu, find IE, right click, select copy, right click the desktop, select paste.

Re: Switched to FireFox

Or, you could just be smart and not have desktop icons at all and access everything through a quick launch menu. That way you can have a pretty wallpaper without things blocking it, be organised and look cool all at the same time.

Yeah, thats what I do. It also clears space in your Virtual Memory too, cause Windows wont have to render so many desktop icons. (Which believe it or not, slows down Windows alot)

but if you really want it on your desktop, just do what I said in my first post.

Re: Switched to FireFox

...Kill me now, doesn't anyone here know how to use a copy of Windows?

Anyway, ignoring all the above nonsense, the Internet Explorer desktop icon is toggled through Control Panel>Display Properties>Desktop Tab>Customize Desktop. The section "Desktop icons" allows you to choose whether to place My Documents, My Computer, My Network Places and Internet Explorer on the desktop.
