For some reason though, right after I say something, I hear it over again. I dont know if its something wrong with my settings, or if its something wrong with my friend's settings, but its really ticking me off, cause i hear my self over again EVERY SINGLE FRICKIN TIME. My friend doesnt have this problem : (

Re: MICCCC

Your friend has his volume up so loud that you can hear your mic through his speakers going through his mic and back to your speakers.

Re: MICCCC

No, thats not what it is Steve.....thats actually kinda a good thing because that means your mic is working. In the installation of it, theres a bar where it sees how sensitive it is...on mine there is a little box that says "playback" and then there is a checkbox where it says "if your hearing an echo, uncheck this box" then uncheck the box.

EDIT: if you have MSN, when it says you must instal your mic to use it....you can do it that way to (of unchecking the box)

k thanks ill try..

EDIT: but i didnt really install it, i just plugged it in...

EDIT NUMBER TWO: I dont have MSN...And like I said i'm just plugging it in and using it for a game... im not really using a program..
WAAAAIT yes I am using a program to USE the mic, and thats Xfire. Do u think it has anything to do with that?
Is there anyway to move the sensitivity by going through control panel?

Edit number 3: I tried the sensitivity think in xfire, but it did not work.

Re: MICCCC

Go to the Volume Control dialog, find the column labled "Microphone," and check the "Mute" checkbox underneath.

Surprisingly it doesn't work like that, ever try sticking a mic infront of speakers playing music, you get something called feedback, when the sound goes through the whole system it ends up getting distorted alittle, and by putting the microphone infront of a speaker you put it in an endless loop of getting worse, so the second you put it infront, you get a loud, LOUD buzzing sound.

Yea, my dad works with this stuff, anyways, its probably under your settings somwhere, most likely sensitivity as already mentioned.

I know. Checking that box only affects what you hear, not what your microphone picks up.

Re: MICCCC

Is your friend on push-to-talk? If not and he always has it on you're probably getting your echo from it.

I do believe that it affects the microphone. Clicking "Mute" under the microphone setting is going to mute your own microphone, not allowing any sound to be sent to your friend.

Clicking "Mute" in the playback section of volume control (go to Properties to see the others) stops the computer from repeating everything you say into the mic. If you go in to the recording section (again, under Properties), there's another volume slider/mute box. That one should be left unchecked.

I promise you, I know what I'm talking about. I've done a lot of messing around with these options myself.
